1989 Original Wheels

What option determined whether or not you got the wheels with the gold accents?? Before I bought my car, a 1989 Iroc with 5.7 and tan interior, I was looking at another 89 Iroc with a 305TPI and gray interior, and it had the same style wheels, but with gray accents. Just wondering.

Re: 1989 Original Wheels

I've got the same options. -Red too. Not a lot of us out there! The gold wheel accents came with gold emblems, black and gold pinstripe, gold IROC door decals, gold "Camaro" front bumper insert, and the tan interior. ....ive never seen an 88-90 with some, but not all of those options. There are a few other color decal options, and even red interior, but they all got silver wheels.

....the ONLY combo that I can say I've seen that doesn't have ALL of that is on earlier yellow Irocs, where some have gold wheels, but black interior. This may not have been a factory option, but I've seen it on more than one occasion.

Sharp looking car! Welcome to TGO. When did you buy it? Where are you located?

Thank you. It was bought new in Michigan in 1989, then came down to Houston about 10 years ago. That's where I bought it.

Re: 1989 Original Wheels

It Was Dependent On The Interior Color. No Tan Interior In 1989.

Re: 1989 Original Wheels

What I called Tan interior must be the Lt. Brown referred to in the chart, and mine is leather. If you see the gold accented wheels, it's got to have the Lt Brown int. Thanks for the chart.

Re: 1989 Original Wheels

I think the RPO 661/662 (?) list it as Beechwood, but that brochure obviously lists it as Lt. Brown. Regardless....for the thread's purpose, it's tan.

92P for the wheels. 88A for the decal/emblems
