PW7 wheel color options in 1986?

Hey guys I have a question to anyone old enough to remember or who may have more info than me lol. My last 86 TA was a 305 TPI car black with t-tops and the WS6 package with black PW7 wheels. Any way I picked up another 86 Bright Red 5-speed carb car I’m building up and it did not have the diamond spoke wheels but I have a gold set, I believe to my knowledge in 86 they wouldn’t have been issued gold as in 1987 gold was GTA only. I’m curious to what color the wheels could have came. I believe black, silver and charcoal but would love any info. I’m fond of the red but believe that was a 1988 thing thanks.

If I'm reading my copy of "All 1982-1992 Pontiac Firebird Colors, Codes and Quantities" correctly, there's a table on page 57 that shows T/A wheel colors for '86 as RPO 60P Champagne Gold, and RPO 84P Charcoal.

And yes, red was only available in '88.

Cool thank you bro, I have always wondered what actually came on an 86 if I was ever going to get into like full resto on one of these. That is sweet. My dad said he did not believe that red was ever available on the PW7 wheels and that people probably painted them. What document can I get ahold of or reference that you have that shows the red in 88. Even though it never came on 86 I may do them red out of sweet factor. Thanks again man

If you follow that link to the book on Amazon, above the upper right corner of the picture of the book, click where it says "Look Inside". There are a few pages of the book shown, and the last one is the back cover. The red PW7s (RPO 81P) are mentioned there. 611 built with that option in '88. There is also a table in the book (p.67) that shows them, though it is not part pf that preview on Amazon.

Mine is an 81P car. There are pictures of it in my build thread, linked in my signature below.

There used to be a 91-92 Formula or base Firebird here in town red with the red wheels like yours. Only car with that color combo I've saw other than yours. I wouldn't think it wasn't stock but I also want to think it had the 15in wheels that looked like PW7s.
