15x7 Mesh wheels, powder coated

I have these 15x7 mesh wheels that we media blasted. I was thinking of powder coating them black, then running offset (<!--td {border: 1px solid #cccccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->255/60/15 rear 235/60/15 front) tires.

For about a day I was thinking of the 17x9 black GTA wheels but I feel like for street / strip car there is not enough sidewall, 17s look kinda big, and I had issues with 245s rubbing in the front so I can't imagine a 275/50/17 is going to allow me to turn full lock.

These are AI mockups of what they would look like powder coated. I currently have 15" drag stars on the car but don't love them.

Have the rears widened and put a real tire on?

215/65R15 were the factory size. 255's are going to seriously bulge the sidewalls

I usually run 235/60/15 on them. I think that was the factory size, or at least it's what I've seen on every 15" thirdgen I've bought since the mid 90s. I had some 15" z28 wheels with 255s on my second gen.. I do get what you mean.
