Bonspeed wheels from the IROC-Z for sale

Hey guys,

I'm selling the wheels (Bonspeed Huntington) and tires off the IROC. The sizes are 18x8 front and 18x10 rear with Toyo Proxes T1R's. Tread is very good. The tires hold air (no leaks) and have never been plugged. Wheels are in very good condition also. These were custom made to fit the car which is standard for any 3rd gen...will not work on a 4th gen. Wheels and tires cost me $3K new. Looking to get $1700 for them right now. I think that's a very fair price for a higher end wheel. These are not cheap cast wheels the centers are machined from 6061 T-6 billet forgings. They are 2 piece wheels with the center welded into the hoop. The wheel/tire combo has about 12K miles. I bought them back in 06. Wheels have never been curbed and show very little signs of use. They usually get polished inside and out once a year. I have tons more pictures of the wheels, so if your serious about buying and want to see them, let me know. The wheels are located in Grand Rapids MI. Buyer to pay shipping.

Specs on the wheels:
Front 18x8 with a 4.75" backspace
Rear 18x10 with a 6.0" backspace

Tires: Toyo Proxes T1R's with around 12Kmiles
Front is 245/40/18 Tread depth is .250"
Rear is 295/35/18 Tread depth is .160"

Front tire/rim weighs 49lbs
Rear tire/rim weighs 56lbs

Detail of one stone chip..this could be sanded and polished out if someone was ambitious enough.

Re: Bonspeed wheels from the IROC-Z for sale

Any pics available of the rear wheels installed? I'm trying to see how far they stick out compared to stock. Any issues with the rear tires rubbing?

Haha...you already asked me that years ago.....check it out...more pics of the wheels right after I got them. You said they would not work for you back then, I think they will, my car is low and they never rubbed the fender...the pic is a little deceiving. These wheels would look killer against a red car.

At least I'm consistent. I'd forgotten that I asked back then.

If I get a chance tonight I'll pull the springs out of the rear of the car and compress the suspension until I'm on the bump stops to see what things look like with my factory setup. I seem to hit the bump stops a LOT on my car, so I need to make sure there's room.

You should be fine. I'm on factory springs that are cut. I only had one minor rub issue on the inside of the wheel well on the passenger side at full compression...I believe it was the bump where the seat belt anchors are.

Re: Bonspeed wheels from the IROC-Z for sale

Are those aftermarket brakes? Do they space the wheels out any (that front backspacing sounds like it might put the front wheels in about 1/4" too far with the factory setup)?

How much is the car lowered in the pics?

Looks sweet!

How much caliper clearance do you have in the front? Any idea if a Baer monoblock 6 piston caliper would clear? I am very interested but I need to make sure they will clear my brakes.

Those are LS1 brakes front and rear, so yes the front wheels backspace account for the extra thickness of the rotor hat....I think it's around a 1/4" or less. Car is lowered about 1.5"

They have pretty good clearance....I know the valve stem would have to be changed to a flush stem to fit bigger brakes. I was planning on running the CTSV set-up with these wheels, I measured for them and they look like they will fit....I don't know about the monoblock though. Would you like me to take any measurments?

Re: Bonspeed wheels from the IROC-Z for sale

This is the template that Baer supplies with my brake kit. It would be awesome if you could see if these will fit. I love the wheels and I hope they fit without spacers. Now I run an 18" C6 front wheel with a 2" spacer but I don't like the way it looks. Sticks out too far. The Baer kit also adds a 1/4" to the hat thickness so thats a good start. http://www.baer.com/brake-templates/N085P.PDF, http://www.baer.com/brake-templates/...structions.pdf. Thanks in advance for checking fitment.

Re: Bonspeed wheels from the IROC-Z for sale

Here you go....it's tight. There is about .080" to the inside of the rim. To the spoke it's about .350". You can see the valve stem would have to be swapped out for a flush stem.

You checked the scale with a ruler? It's under the recommended 0.10" clearance but I think it will work. Shipping quote to 85340 residential address please. You can PM me if you prefer. Thanks

Yep, it's printed exactly to scale. I put the blue tape on the end to make it easier to see the gap.

I'll work on a shipping quote.
