You can see that the spring is upside down. I found Eibach installation instructions online and it says that the labeling should be right side up and the flat end of the spring should be up top.

The screwdriver is pointing to a tab at he bottom. There is no way to squeeze this or push it up to allow the connector to go through the sheet metal.

The previous owner installed some really good stereo equipment into this car. That's a high end Kenwood head unit. I'm going to buy the Screaming Chicken kit to swap the head unit to the top and put the HVAC controls on the bottom.
