As mentioned at the start of this thread I'm not really restoring the car but rather rebuilding it as I plan on driving it and even doing some track days. Because of that I'm mostly leaving the bottom side untouched.

5.7 short block from an Iroc, will only be using the block for the 302 build. Also a set of TRW forged 11 to 1 pistons for it, flywheel and balancer.

First brackets were 3 inch center to center mounted in the original holes that Morrison Cook had drilled in the bumper reinforcement. Looks like they need to come out another inch.

The light brackets mount off the bumper reinforcement. The hole is there but the lights were gone as later 88 they went to a brake cooling duct.
