Of course tubs for a 315 don't need to be nearly that big. Those look more like full race tubs than mini tubs... I've seen 315's fit with "massaged" stock metal on 17X11 rims.

Those are MINI. notice the frain rails were not touched or moved in.
buy yes with a little massage work and the right rim backspacing you can fit a 315.
massage the inner well and roll the outer lip.

&*ll no, the car isn't on the ground yet. LOL!! I just ordered a new k-member today. This has been a slow process due to lack of funds and motivation. Basically looks the same as those pictures. I've been trying to get the frontend done. Going to a pinto rack and pinion, lowering the motor in the chassis and running a dry sump system is going to be the death of me. Ground clearance is going to be very tight.

i hope you guys dont mind me diggin up some old posts, but this is helping me but need some more info.
what 4 link setup did you use?
i noticed you said the frame rails were not moved at all, so what size tire can you fit?
thats a Ford 9" right?
did the 4 link kit come with the mounts for the coil overs?
where are the tops of the coil over bolted too?
do you need all the cage in back for support, or can you get away with a smaller cage?
and i take it the fuel tank was removed right?
any more pics of farther underneath the car at all?
sorry about digging up the past but this is where i am headed shortly!!

Wow this is old. Since then I have actually mini tubbed mine also... I can fit a 27x11.5x15 slick under the lip now.
Still need to finish it up but here are a few during pic's. Soon as I get some time I can take some recent pic's.
I cant answer for bjm on the 4 l ink and coil over questions. but the fuel tank doest need to be moved. In his I believe it ways.
I almost regret mini tubbing it and should have just did allot of "MASAGEING" but if I wanted to stuff a hell of a tire under it atleast now I can with no problems.

is there something like the LPE C5 vettes have? they have mini tubbing kits but its not as big as the ones above. i would be looking to run a 335+ tire in the back on a 17 or 18 inch wheel. not for a drag slick like those are.

befor it went to a vert conversion also.
I have all Hotchkis suspention components.

The cutting ad slicks mock up were done with a junk drum rear end so I could mount the slicks. I dont have the brackets welded to the 9inch yet.
I just mounted up a 17x9.5 SS/ZR1 rim with a 275/40/17 last night and it looks small compaire to the slicks.lol.

i noticed the lip of the quarter looked different, did you also cut open the quarter, what i mean is enlargen the lip of the wheel well or is that some extra body work?
also when buyign the tubs, what size did you buy was it a full sized tub that you cut to fit, or is there a "max" size that can be used?
thanks once again!!

nothing different about the lip. Im guessing you talking about the pic's with the lines cut in it to "ROLL THE LIP" which you see every one talk about.
This is a convertable so Im fabing my own inner wells as they need to be flat on the top. This way the vert top goes down under the cover still.
