I love the look of the front end, but why not just by a 4th gen if that is what you are going for. Adding a 4th gen hood or spolier is one thing, but the whole front end?? I would just buy a 4th gen.

Could be cool. Do you have any other pics? I never cared for that slanted look the new camaros have, but I'd be interested to see the 4th gen nose on one.

Man, I'm not usually one to say this, but if you are going to go THAT far, buy a 4th gen. I can understand using the seats, door panels, spoiler, etc, but not the whole freakin nose. It doesnt even match the lines of that car. To each his own though....

When we startet getting our 3.gens back in 83 ´the German Dealer thought we were crazy to not get a opel omega......

When we converted the first cars to racers, people said we were crazy.....

I moded my K-member to fit headers long before Pa and co was on the market, no real headers on the market that could work with my super low tourer......our welder said : "You want what? You must be C......

When i started to convert to coilover long before the (avg. us gi joe stationed over here ) thought about it people said i am crazy...

When we put the 84 firebird nose to a camaro( easier to remove at the track)....people said..........

When i got the only notchback in germany my wife said, you are....

If i could get a mold of that yellow imsa car from gm i would put it on!

I am not satisf. with stock 3.gen GM nose types!
We are now moving to german scca style racing and i would love to get a nose that cools the 380mm discs up front, keeps cid data low ........

As said before to each his own.....

For a price of a 4th gen over here i would rather get a old 500E(124) and bust people with a sleeper benz sedan and my neighbours would love me again for buying "german"

I know its taste , but i love that conv. "4th gen" car!

Hmm, that looks OK I guess. I like the idea that the whole front end comes off in one piece. That would DEFINATELY freakin rule!

I think that is the only angle i have ever seen, drawing or real.

I would love to see the T/A wrap aRound on a Camaro, just to see how it looks

I liked the pic of the black camaro until I realized it was photoshoped, and was really 2 cars in one. If you like the 4th gen but dont have money for one could you replace the whole body. Its not that I think you are crazy, Its that the bubbley line of the the 4th gen dont match the pointyness of a 3rd gen. As you can clearly see in the photoshoped pic.

My theroy is: If your going to go, Go all out.

In closeing I would suggest redoing the whole body instead of just the front.

the lines of the third gen are much better than the fourth gen. The 98+ T/A nose is the best one ive seen, but i would only put it on the bird cuase i love the way the camaro nose just "smiles" at you. It's great.

The third gen is far better looking than the fourth gen, though its not perfect, it needs some help from other parts, and some of the fourth gen aspects would give sparkto the already great third gen

as for what jawz said about swapping the whole body.....It's a Unibody! if it was a full framed car, i'd say hell yeah, but that would cost more than buying a fourth gen.

also, regarding the black firebird, that doesn't seem like it'd be alllll that hard if you could find a cheap front fascia at a JYard. I think i'll shop around this summer. I would be a king, a king i tell you.

I'd do my car without the 98+ Ram Air hood, I like the 97 and earlier style.

I'm sorry............. but your crazy....... cause it looks so damn good! I REALLY like the look of that nose on the 3rd gen's I've seen on this page. I like it even more without the 4th gen hood, Zephers car looks really neat without it. Hell, its like were playing GM here, remodeling there cars to the max to create somthing entirely different. I'd go out and but a T/A and that exact front fascia just to have somthing that looked that cool. I'd buy a T/A anyways if I had the money, but, oh well

I like it! Lots of creativity and imagination. If I knew how to Photoshop stuff, I would try something like that on my 86 Camaro.

Dang, trigger's car looks dang sweet with that nose... If it's possible, I'd love to do this! I was told the curves of the nose don't match our curves (not talking about lines of the car, just about lining up the nose to the fender and hood), so it'd take some major bodywork, but I have a better idea:

Let's get GTAuto to make a urethane nose for us that looks like a 4th gen! They already have the hood and spoiler package made for 3rd gens! Let's do it! It'd make it easier on us... and we need some custom parts for our cars like aftermarket ground effects, noses...etc.

chris, if gtauto made them, they would be old news, everyone would have them, and then we'd be out looking for other ways to make our cars completely unique. not that thats bad or anything, just give us guys a chance to do it the wrong way first, then we'll tell gtauto and we'll have the "old school 4th gen nose job" lol.

That's a good point... I was only concerned about it being impossible b/c the lines might not match, but I haven't actually tried it... yet. I was also concerned that I won't be able to FIND a wrecked fourth gen (1998 or newer) that I could use... plus, I was also saying we need some custom noses for our cars kinda like ricers have... don't get me wrong; I'm not saying we should make our cars ricers, but I think we could use some custom cosmetic stuff for our cars to update the 20 year old design...
Just my two cents, I still wanna try this... the "old school way!"
~Chris
P.S.
Just because GTAuto made the hood and spoiler thing, doesn't mean everyone does it... 86Fyrbird and BadGTA have it (only some of the people on this website) and I haven't even seen ONE around where I live. There are so many thirdgens in the country, but so few enthusiasts who want theirs to stick out like we do...

Some in here have forgotten the 11.Sept.!

Doesn´t make any sense to fight or battle in here!
We all stand for the same thing!!???Third gens!!!
I did asked for the progress of that long old 4th gen nose storie and it´s development!

Now if we could all get back to the topic and maybe find a solution or company that is thinking about making one!

THANKS!!!!!!

I like the way Trigger's car looks if someone makes a bumper like that for a thirdgen i'd buy one in a heart beat and as for buying a 4th gen there a little out of my price range. besides if you buy a 4th gen and park it next to an other 4th gen it will look just like it but if you put that nose on a thirdgen and park it between a thirdgen and a 4th gen your car will get all kinds of looks
just my .02

i have had a newer nose up to my car. there is a lot of sectioning to make it work as well as a lot of work in the fenders to make the line look right.(lots of cutting and glueing to make it work)

sorry no pics of it close to my car

That, is a Tojan. They where special made by a dealership, and came in a few trim levels. The colors designate the trim level. Red is the most common, followed by white, and black. The black trim level is refered to as "Nightmare". It is a GTA, with a 350 tuned port. Outside of the body mods, and some interior trim changes, the car is nothing more than a firebird. They are rare though, not many of them where made.

Yeah, the Tojan's were really unique cars. They were modified by a company called Knudsen Auto in Ohio I believe. The exterior was completely redone, and interior options were added such as wood grain dash and steering wheel. There were also a few convertibles made. Theses were available directly from GM, to them, to you, or you could send them your existing bird and they would modify it for you. Amazingly, it only took a few days to completley modify a Bird into a Tojan, but the price tag was quite hefty. The cool thing about them is that no one really know what the hell they are!

Thank you for actually answering that time. That's all I asked for the 1st time not an asinine repeat of what you had said once before, kidding or not. I do have a sense of humor but, I can be an a$$hole just like anyone else at times. My apologies if I pissed you off.

those cars look SOOOO beautiful, i especially like the black Iroc that was Pshopped. i would love to mix my "power dome" hood on my '87 Formula with a 4th gen T/A nose if it just didn't require so much real world work! just for laughs, could any of you guys do a mix on your photo shops like i mentioned, 82-92 Power hood with a 97-up nose? thanks guys!!
