9bolt posi repair info
well I will give this a shot and see what you guys think. I had major major help with this so don't think I could have done this on my own.
I will have to use more than 3 pictures in this post so I hope the mods will leave this here until it is saved in the tech board. if some one can host the PDF file I will delete the pictures right away and save some space here.

88 350 tpi formula -- Ok, I'll finish the uploads ... if the moderators have trouble posting the PDF [only 400K] maybe I'll host it on Yahoo if anyone is interested.

Here's page 5 of 5 -- hey, a round of applause for 88 350 tpi formula, thanks to him we got to see some very complex stuff about 9-bolts that most of us never will dig into.

FYI the high-resolution tech file is hosted as a 400K PDF on the follow Duck-site:
http://www.geocities.com/luckyducky_...air30Nov04.pdf
Much better than the low-resolution images on the TGO pages.

well, it looks like another good artical will be lost and forgotten. makes me wonder why we even have a tech artical section when they won't keep things like this

interesting ... good find
i have a posi unit from a 87 roc with 3.27 gears. gonna swap that into my 2.77 rear in spring
i am not doing it. dont wanna mess with it.
i would like to make sure everything is ok and it wont break later on for some reason. I not sure of what condition its in either. but looks pretty solid.
this article helps me understand whats inside of it and how it all works. i just got to get an installation kit with new bearings and i should be set. i will run it and see how it works. Reider Racing was the install kit but no price. i got to call them up sometime soon.
any idea how much new install kit would cost? something like 80-120 bucks or so?

much thanks guys. no rear end shop around here really wants to touch a 9 bolt due to not having much experience in them. those helped a lot. now just off to find some 4.10 gears for this thing.

Shoots, just report the thread as being too useful, just to get attention.

Thanks for the link, Ed...very nice work on the article.
I really don't understand why...unless they assumed they were rebuilding the posi, the gear setup is just like any other rearend so why be scared of it?
