Holley TBI w/Edelbrock Performer Intake?

Hey Guys...

My buddy is selling his Holley 670 TBI and I wanna pick it up if it will work on my Performer TBI manifold? I could use the extra airflow.

BTW..the engine is a LO5 in my 91 S10.

seems like a waste since the edelbrock TBI intake has stock 1-11/16" bores and teh 670 Holley has 2" bores. You could try to have the edelbrock intake bored out but a messup could cost you the manifold.

I dunno about boring it.. that's the 3704? edelbrock told me not to attempt that as it would hit the water jackets..

Edelbrock told me the same thing,it's ok to chamfer the bores, but not bore them out.If you're gonna run the big throttle body,
I'd change the intake to a four-barrel carb intake with an adapter.
(I'm running the Performer TBI and Turbo City Ported Throttle Body)

I have the Holley 670cfm TB w/ Perf. intake, but I bought it that way w/ the bores enlarged & everything.

You could always screw Edelcrap and go with the Holley Pro-Jection manifold. I believe it has 2" bores.

The Holley manifold has the big bores but I don't think it has EGR, so if you need to pass smog that could complicate things.

I've read other places on the board that due to either the location or the angle of the EGR on the projection manifold, you need to run a Truck EGR valve, or a TBI spacer. Neither is a big deal at all, I just thought you would want all the info when deciding on your intake.

I plan on doing a 350 swap and will probably use the performer with an adaptor plate. Or I may just go with the cheaper of the 2 setups. I've not heard/read of either being better or worse than the other. I have seen complaints with the Edel TBI intake, so I'm definately not going that route.

I have the edelbrock intake and I like it. It may not be the best but it was a dirrect bolt on. Everything bolted back up were it was supposed to and the only thing I had to go was bend my fuel lines a bit. If Holleys EGR wasn't different i would have most likely gone with that. However I have heard that the Holley intake doesn't fit as well.

I am told by a guy with a holley TBI that it works great. The stock bore is smaller, but holley makes an adapter plate #17-46 to adapt the 2" bore to the 1 11/16" bore. Stock only flows 480cfm so the adding of the holley would be a definite improvement even for a stock engine.
