Looks like your're going to have to trim those a bit to fit. The fenders are pretty stingy when it comes to space. Cool idea though, like Camaro equivelents of TA fender vents.

Actually...by the looks of the pictures...it looks like you would have to trim them....but.....I won't have to. There is 1 guy around here that has already done it...and it came out perfect....no trimming necessary....all I have to do is loosen up my fender....drill 6 holes....and cut a portion of my fender out so they will "sink" into place....to me....I don't like the Z3 louvers at all....they don't really fit the car....but..that's just my opinion..

On the pass. side, will the power antenna get into the way? I think it would look good as hell, IMO. Can you get pictures of that guy's car by any chance? Good luck

I'll try my best to get a few shots of his car...they looked so great on there....that's why I decided to do it. Well.....about the antenna....I don't have a power antenna..I had the antenna off...because I just uncovered it (had the car cover on).....but....I'm doing away with the antenna anyhow....I'm going to shave it when I start working on my fenders....I'm going to get one of those windshield antenna's or whatever....I don't listen to the radio much anyways...but...I'll try to get a pic of his car...

Well...I have planned on doing this for like 2 months now....I tried for about a month and a have...and finally found a set on ebay. GM quit making them.....so....you can't order them anymore. The guy on ebay took them off for me and I got them for $65.00. They are made out of Aluminum....and they had 6 studs on the back...so they will bolt in. You might try ebay...or look at some local junkyards...I just know these things are pretty hard to find....

LOL.....it's a fossil..! lmao!...thanks for noticing..!
I think it would follow the lines of the car better if the vent you showed us went on the passenger side of the car, the vents kinda makes a V with the end of the fender in those pics, you should try it with it more parallel with it.

Those actually came out of a 1980-1981 Z28 (same louvers for both years) The TA "Vents" were more of a vent style and kinda of stuck out of the fender alot more then the 1980-81 Z28s. The Z28's were sleeker and closer to the body....while the TA vents kinda of stuck out of the body......I talked to the guy last night who had put a set in his 1992 Z28......the louvers should have came with a gasket....but..mine didn't come with any gaskets...so..I'll have to make some. He said it was the perfect template to where to cut the portion of the fender out and where to drill your holes....so..I'll either have to try to order the gaskets...or...I'll have to make a set. One other thing he told me....that where the actual "louver" part goes into the fender.....it will have to be trimmed about 1/4 of an inch....so it won't the frame rail that lines the fender inside. If nobody know's what I'm talking about...let me know....and I'll take a picture to show you what is actually going to have to be trimmed. I think this is going to set my 91 Z28 off really really well!

Good news....
I realized that inorder to get a nice fit.....the gasket is a must for these louvers.....plus..it ill be a perfect template on where to cut and drill holes. When I bought mine off of ebay....they didn;t come with any...so.....I crossed my fingers and went up to my local GM dealer today. GM dosen't make the gaskets anymore....but....the guy called some kind of "vintage" parts place for me.....he was able to order me a set for like $10.00.....

Ever get around to doing this 84customZ28? Curious to see how it came out. Thinking about doing the same since one of my fenders has had a boo-boo recently! lol

Can someone possibly photoshop one with the front 91-92 style gfx, just like the pic above of the iroc? I know 84customz28 has them, but seeing it on that angle, and in blue for me would be a plus! Not neccessary, but it would be cool to see. thanks

Well fella's.....everything is ready to go....BUT....it is WAY to cold here to start such a project. I'm definently going to do it though. I KNOW this is a project that I'm going to do to my car..but...tomorrow..I'm going to go to a local junkyard to see if I can get a used...junky fender...just to see what to expect...it's probably the safest thing to do. When ever the weather gets nice....and stays nice here..is when I'm going to start on it. But..I'll make sure to post plenty of pictures while I do this. I wish they were made of steel....so..I could make them in and make them seamless....but..they are made from aluminum...so..I can't weld them.......but..no biggy. I'll keep in touch...

Got the Passenger Side Louver installed today....and shaved the antenna. The was probably one of the hardest things I've done in along time. There is not much room at all to work on these. The frame beneath the fenders runs into everything. I had to shave the back of the louver about an inch for it to fit right. Also....I had to drill 2 holes on the opposite side of the fender so I could install the self taping nuts....now...I have the other side...and I'm REALLY not looking forward to it. Also....the frame upport shows through the louver opening. I had to place another piece of metal so the frame can't be seen...I'm also going to add a piece of expanded aluminum to highlight it a lil bit. I had to take my hood off, my hinge, and take out every bolt along the top to loosen the fender up as much as possible.. ....anyhow...I'll have pictures up probably tomorrow....just thought I'd let you guys know that this is a very tough job....many mods have to be done in order for them to fit right. (passenger side fender is in black lacquer primer)

I did mine this past week also....
Pictures are getting picked up today and will be online by lastest this weekend...
It cost me about $240 to have a body shop install these...
About 7 hours of labor...
