Height Specs on Stock Intake & 300-66
Does anyone have the specs on the stock intake (L03)???
I am probably going to pickup the HLY-300-66 intake. I have a concern about hood clearance. The 300-66 spec's at 3.91" front & 5.40" rear, am I going to have any problems fitting this under the hood with a decent aircleaner???
Thanks

Ok...I did some number crunching etc (if I had my car at home I am sure this would be 100times easier)
Stock Manifold Deck height is 4.15.
------> And I am currently running a 3" air cleaner, so lets say 4.15+3.0=7.15 (it is not going to be exactly 7.15" and is probably way different than that, but for comparison sake this will work out)
HLY 300-66 Manifold deck height is 4.63" + a .625 spacer needed to allow EGR to hook-up = 5.28 deck height
------> match that up with a 1.5" filter element in my current open element unit and you get 5.28+1.5= 6.78 which is actually lower than the stock manifold with a 3 inch air filter. (May be able to squeek a 2" filter in there but for sure 1.5" will work!)
Does this make sense to you guy????? I know the actual deck height + the size of aircleaner isnt acutally an accurate hight calculation, but for comparison between the two manifolds with the same stock TB unit and different size air filter elements it demonstrates that the HLY 300-66 with at 1.5 filter would actually be shorter than the stock one with a 3" filter, make sense to you guys???
