Soundclips of 3" Edelbrock CatBack
A few people have asked me to put up some sound clips of my 3" Edelbrock cat back, so here goes.
Keep in mind that this is on a pretty healthy engine with a gutted cat.
This is idling at 750-800 rpms.

And a quick rev to 5500.
The files need to be unzipped first to listen.

Man that sounds nice. I'm about to put some flows on my stock ride. Edelbrock soulds nice on your ride but there is more to that than exhaust.

Yeah, there is more to it than the exhaust. The car has a 357 with AFR 190s, SuperRam, LT4 Hot cam. The headers are Edelbrock TES with 3" y pipe.
I had this exhaust on 3 different engines so far. A stock 305, a mild 350, and now this one. On all of them it had the same note to it, the idle was the biggest difference for abvious reasons. On the 305 it wasn't quite as deep, but still sounded awsome.
I have a Flowmaster system on my '92 (came on car) and I don't care for it. It sounds lame and all too common IMO. I'll be switching it to Edelbrock soon.
Let me know if you want different clips.

What other clips do you have? Was it a TPI 305 or what? I'm planning on getting Edelbrock exhaust for my '87 305 TPI Z28. Do you happen to have a clip of it on that 'ole 305? If not it's no problem, it sounds pretty killer.... my 305 will never sound like that 357.

Give me some time. I think I have some old video of it on the 305, I'll see what I can dig up!

Hey Hg,
I dug up some old clips of the 305 with the Edelbrock cat back. It was a stock TPI 305 like yours, and an '87 also. It had the TES headers on it also.
Here is one of it starting up. It was recorded from in the hatch area with the hatch open.

And here's the butter.
This was recorded at a drag strip. It is from inside the car (front passenger seat) with the windows up. I think it sounded pretty good for a stock 305. This was like a low 15 second pass.
Its a little distorted from all the shaking and what not. enjoy!
