New pix of completed K1 Evo Kit Car (If u dont like it then dont click)

Was browsing through ebay and found these pix of a completed K1 Evo kit on a 89 IROC. Thought I would post the images here because I remember people asking for other pictures of this kit completed by someone other than K1. I think I saw a pic of this car earlier before it got painted (rims and house look the same). It looked farked up before .. not that bad now ...

(hey thats my steeringwheel!!! hahah!!)

Not a bad job ... gives me a good idea of what mine will look like except it'll be black with quad tips, k1 interior, and 19" wheels.

i like the truck........but i think the only thing its missing is a different front valance, a stock S10 valance from the same year would look 100 times better, but thats my opinion and we all know what those are like

What the hell how are you going to have something that looks like that with 250hp pushing it? You better have some serious mods.

Something isn't right. That center console says it's an 85 IROC, but the shift **** says it's an 87 or newer.

Thats the bad part about the EVO. Once they glance at the exterior they might say hey not bad, but once they open the door and find an interior like that, there just gonna laugh at ur face.

i dunno, if some time went into putting it all together, and the exterior looks good, it gets a thumbs up in my book Although one point on the other side of things i WILL agree with is you've got to stop refering to it as any kind of camaro or firebird, and call it "your kit car" or "kit on an f-body chassis".

In short, i like it for what it is

Looks good, however, I think I would have bought a cheap SC or something instead of an IROC, because it's not an IROC no more to me.

I dunno.... I can't seem to get past the Honda ***** front end... is it just me or have I seen that kit on countless Civic's and Accord's?? Other than the front it looks good for what it is...what it isn't is a 3rd Gen Camaro or Firebird I wouldn't do that to my Iroc...I would rather put the cash into a great paint job and go fast goodies..

The car must get some looks at car shows though...and I new interior is a must!

Just my $0.02 worth

Hey 86,

Why would you want an "extra" convertible laying around? Why wouldn't ya do it to yer car? If it is that cool why wouldn't you do the conversion to your own ride. Which I think would be an absolute crime to mess with that sweet looking GTA

Again my $0.02 worth..

i would do it if i had the $6,000.00 for the kit and the $1,000.00 for the dash kit i would put it on my 86 but not my 88 and the reason i wouldn't put it on my 88 is cause its my baby and i like it just the way it is . But how many of you guys can say that the kit wouldn't get alot of looks and not to mention the chicks . and dam $7,000.00 plus S&H thats a down payment on a new 2002 camaro which i would rather have

It looks TOO much like a kit car. You can tell right away it's not a real car. I'd rather spend the money on getting a Cobra kit car.

I think it looks pretty good. Id rather have a more italian front end design then that honda look, but if I knew of a SC with a crapped out body and good underpinnings id definitly do it.

Yes, it works with all thirdgen F-bodies. You replace the body panels, its all the same after that

I like the way it looks. Could definitely use a better interior. Anyone have any closer pictures of the side mirrors or that hatchback?

I think it looks pretty sharp. The back looks very nice, the front is a little *****, but looks good too.
the interior is in definate need of change. It is to "old" looking and too square for the body lines.
If i had $8,000 lying around I wouldn't spend it on that, but i like looking at it.

Thats pretty freakin cool! By the above pics it looks like they used a T-top chassis. Do I just have bad eyes or does that car look like it has a targa type removable T-top section? From the views it looks like a solid piece,no T-top divider. Still must say thats pretty neat!

This kit was around before the explosion of crappy replacement & ugly bolt on parts for import cars. The kit looks good & seems fairly Italian looking to me....

I like it. Can't wait to see yours CrazyHawaiian, if you build it one day. I might build one oneday on a spare f-body chassis, just for something to do on the side.

I'd probably use something else for the taillights and headlights, though.

Personally I think the headlights are about the coolest headlights put on a car. The tail lights, as come with the kit, are IMHO hideous. Those are better, but not great. I have my own plans for the tail lights.
K1 interior I personally HATE, also. A complete 4th gen interior would fit much better.
Anyway, those are just my totally bias opinions, I'll have pics eventualy.

I think that the car pictured looks very plastic. if you look closely, it just doesnt have the flare of being a well made exotic car. reminds me of the "Vetterosa" kits that used to be everywhere. If maybe some small details were out in, maybe it wouldnt look like that. The front of the K1's are waay too much like the current Mitsubishi Eclipse, the back looks bad ***!

But overall, places like the lower facia opening , imo, look like plastic. But to each his own. Nice thing is that it looks like a bad *** kit to do some custom details on

I like the sides and back... the front does nothing for me at all... if I had lots of disposable cash I would probably do such a kit, but it would be on a tired old SC or something.. .. I would not do that to my IROC though... cuz IMO once you do something like that you cannot call it a 3rd Gen car anymore, at that point you may as well go hog wild and change the engine/interior/the works. Or maybe just go and buy a Ferrari or Eclipse

Deadbird, I know it's a kit car, does that mean it has to look like one? It doesn't flow very well IMO. It does look plasticky. I think a kit made from a fourth gen F-bod would work better. This one looks too 1980's.

As for the fact it looks too much like a kit? What? Plastic? It is all fiberglass.... how does fiberglass look like plastic? I guess it looks like a kit car because nothing out there looks like it. I think the lines are aewsome on the car, the way to flows through the entire car. The front is kinda funky looking, but that is due some to the angles they always show it at. Oh well, it looks better in person.

Third, that's just about what I would've said as well. I'd add though, that most people seem to associate the term kit car & seem to be OK with it only with replica's (cobra's, lambo, etc.) & not one-off designs. (but that's just my opinion).

The front of the K1's are waay too much like the current Mitsubishi Eclipse
The K1 was out before those as well. If anything, the Eclipse design was copied off the Evo.

I know what you mean about the plastic look. I think its the combination of bad photography and a bad paintjob. The kit is fiberglass just like the old school corvettes. With a good paintjob, I'm sure it would look great. So what are your guy's plans for the taillights? I'm curious. When I look at the back of that thing, I see a set of Toyota Supra taillights ... I'm just afraid of the idea of cutting the fiberglass to fit the lights ... Maybe if it was tucked behind? Well, I'm gonna be waiting a while for the price of the kit to drop before I think about buying it ... If you check out the website, you'll see they are comming out with a Version 2 of the kit (with way too many airscoops if you ask me) so hopefully the original kit will get a price cut. It will take me at least a year to build a Z28 worthy of that kit anyway ...

This one looks too 1980s.
Gee, ya think? It's an '80s kit, based on an '80s Ferrari, on an '80s F-Body chassis.....

Crazy: What's bad about the paintjob? I think it's all in the photography. A crap backdrop, unimaginative framing, overcast sky.... All it needs is to clip off part of the car and it would look most of the pics posted here.. (okay, I exaggurated on that last, but it was still funny).

Did a quick photoshop of supra taillights on the K1 kit jus for fun.

First with the lights tucked behind the fiberglass:

Or a really botched up pic if it was cut out and fitted:

Hey, I never said I have them!

Hawaiian - You missed your chance to get them at a lower price... they are now 6995 instead of 5995, and that is because they are making the new Evo. I kinda like the tail light idea... it is far better then stock.

I've got about $10 grand into the car now.
Almost got it running tonight, injectors aren't injecting.
Had some fire shoot out of the throttlebody a couple of times, that was a nice little high-light.

WTF, how does this add anything to this topic? If I don't want my car to look American, THAT IS MY CHOICE. That is the whole freaking point, actuallu!
As per the topic, if you don't like, don't look.

Zepher, you have any idea who makes that car that you posted the picture of?

Ahhh, if you want the real car I beleive it is modeled after look on supercars.net or E-bay for the 1980's Ferarri Evoluzione. The K1 takes almost all the styling cues from it.
