Foglights...Need some wiring help...
I've got my grill in, and the switch, I just need to get this puppy wired up. Following other posts, this is what I was planning to do:
If these are the terminals on the foglight switch:
A
B
CD
A - ground
B - wire to #86 on relay
C&D - wire to interior light fuse
Wire from #30 on relay to foglight fuse
Wire from #87 to foglights
Wire from #85 to ground
I was going to keep the relay close to the switch...so I'll mount it inside the dash somewhere. Now for the questions:
When I opened up the dash, behind where the switch would be...there were two wires that didn't go to anything. They were both white...one had a black stripe and the other a red stripe I think. Are these from the instrument lights? Would these go to terminals C & D on the switch if there was a switch?
Also, when looking at the fuse block, there appeared to already be two wires coming from the foglight fuse, a red one and a blue one. Are these cars already partly wired up for foglights? Where are these wires going?

Still having a little trouble, eh?
By all means, do what you want, but I don't think you should put the relay under the dash. Just in case it does short out, that's where the fire will be. That's why all the other relays are under the hood.
Anyhoo, everything else looks good. I have no idea what those wires are for, I didn't find any when I wired mine up. I'd just leave them alone and run some new stuff, that way you know EXACTLY what you've wired up.
I believe all cars had provisions in the wiring harness for fog lights, and also power seats, but some cars didn't get them. I was suprised to see that fog light fuse when I did mine. I'd just leave the harness alone and run new wires, it won't take that long.

The factory location for the foglight relay is actually under the dash - it was moved there from under the hood sometime prior to '91.

I dont know if a 91's wiring or opperation is the same as my 86 IROC, so I dont know on the wiring. But, I know if I have my fog lights on with the headlights, the fog lights will switch off when I hit my brights. Dont know if thats an option you want, but I didnt see it anywhere in your list.
I know people give me flack when I have my fog lights on at night, and thats just with the dim lights. I could imagine it would be worse if I accidentaly left my brights on with the foglights on also, 6 lights shining, that would be like my buddys Jeep with the thousands of KC lights on at once. I could see that getting me into some road rage incidents.

I know this is an older discussion, but I have something to add, and ask.
I was just digging under my dash in my 91 teal RS (yes, another one), and I found that I have the connectors for the foglight switch and the relay already there, and just taped out of the way. I checked in my Helm's for the wire colors, and they match as well. It would seem all I would have to do is add the fuse, and pop in switch and relay. So . . . does anybody know what the part number for the relay is? I don't want to use some generic thing from Radio Shack, I want the OEM one. Also, since I have the connectors for the switch, I have been wondering if I might have the connectors for the lights as well. Did anyone else? I'll go out and look in the morning anyway, but since I'm typing ...
Did anyone else find all the connectors already there? What about the daytime running module? I think I have one already, but I'm not sure. There was a box in the right area, but my back was killing me, and I didn't investigate it too much, in case it was my airbag module. Didn't want to set it off. Thanks.
