headlight motor wiring question

I have an 84 Trans Am. what I want to do is remove my entire dash, eliminate any/every wire not being used. the car is no longer ecm controlled. I figure all I have to keep are my headlights plus motors and tail light functions and that should be it(along with guage lights and radio). sounds easy enough but I am not an electrical kind of guy so please help me out. which wires under the dash do I have to have that are for the headlights and the headlight motors???? I asume they go from the firewall to the fuse box then to the headlight switch mounted on the left side of the dash. anyone know WHICH WIRES CONTROL WHICH FUNTION??? I have looked at the schematic in the hanes book but it tells nothing as to where the wires go.

all you should have to do is follow the wires from the headlight switch, or you can unplug the switch and pull the wires out from the bottom of the dash and just follow them to the fusebox and firewall
