Kick Panels now Shipping!

Hey all,

It's been too long, but I'm finally back on board with kick panels. Vinyl wrapped panels are on the horizon, but for now I can offer carpeted panels. Here is a pic of the driver side panel. This first set is being shipped out today. The second set is going in my car, and after that I'm open for business. The carpeted panels will be $168 ($160 plus $8 shipping) shipped in the 48 states. E-mail or PM with any questions. Payment is through Paypal or Money Order. Finished panels will be shipped within 7-10 days after receiving payment.

They can hold up to a 6.5" component set and are open in the back. A sealed version can be custom ordered.

Thanks again to the thirdgen.org community for all your support!

Unfortunately, i had to box that set up for shipping without first installing them, but when I get my own set done I'll have installed pics.

You're the man REZ! What kind of mounting depth will the sealed kicks have? I'm planning on sealed black vinyl in the future.

got my car back... man that thing is quick. with the 3.73's its just evil, i wouldnt be surprised if i was running 12.5's on motor and low 11's on spray now.

anyway, im taking a break from running wire as we speak, either going to finish it tonight or after i wake up tomorrow. getting some good pics

i bought 50 ft of stinger 12 gauge thinking it would be plenty to run 2 sets of wires from the drivers kick over to the passenger side, 2 more from the passenger side kick, to under the pass. seat, and 4 sets from the crossovers back to the amp, for biamping. turns out, i have just enough to run the speakers, and one from each crossover, so no bi-amping until i get some more wire.

got the drivers side panel in, fits really snug, doesnt look like itll be as hard to deaden as i had thought. looks better than i had expected too. have the tweet in and all the wiring ran, but i havent put the mid in, or the passenger side kick. doing the mids last, so i can stuff a bunch of polyfill in through the hole. ought to only take me an hour or so tomorrow, and i'll get a lot of pictures since it'll be daytime, it was after dark when i got to work on it today, and its just a cheap disposible camera.

Alright, I just got pictures. Remember, I take no claim for image quality since they were sent to me this way. I'm just playing web host

here's a 30 second touchup to try to remove some noise...

The back of the kick panel

Since these next two pictures are not that relevant to the thread I'm just going to link to them. Here's a sub shot from outside the car of Mean's equipment and here is another shot from directly behind the hatch

they look decent... after some better images I'll be ready to purchase a set!

I'd be interested in a vinyl covered set... or unfinished and I'll cover them myself. How much?

also, the leg room isnt really affected noticably, and i'm 6'3 and spread my legs out a bit. i dont know if it would be any worse with a clutch.

$160?????? those kick panels are hideious. i payed $50 on ebay for a really nice set of black plastic kick panels that look like leather with 2" tweeter slots and speaker covers. besides they just get thrashed anyways (if you have a manual vehicle and/or stupid passengers) and also your legs block out the speaker sound resulting in retardedly muffled music unless of course you only play music with queer basslines just to hear bass. but its up to you i guess

I paid $200 for mine. $250 if you include all the shipping of stuff back and fourth to get them built. You should probably read up some before you post something like that. Search for Jim85IROC's posts on the subject. Also, mentioning q-logic as a pinical of quality also isn't a great idea, especailly on these boards.

Mean - check your pm's. I replied to your question a few hours ago.

Those thin ABS kick panels are garbage, and most can't even accept a 6.5" woofer. If you're rocking a set of Audiobahn components then none of that probably matters anyway, but if you want anything approaching decent sound, you've got to do everything possible to damp all resonances and vibrations, which means mounting speakers in something much better than those q-logic parts.

I'm going to whole-heartidly disagree with you. I just received my kick panels yesterday, and I must say, they're worth every dime I paid for them. $160 is not a bad deal at all... if you go to a car audio store, they will charge you MUCH more than that. MUCH MORE. The plastic kind you got on ebay (because i've seen them myself) are not nearly as nice, don't have near the mounting depth of these, and don't have the quality either. And honestly, I've had a set of 4" woofers in my dash, and tweeters mounted on my a-pillars, and kick panel comps sound a LOT better. You get a LOT better sound out of a 6.5" or even 5.25" speaker than you ever will out of a 4" or 4x6" speaker. Not to mention, power handling is much higher on a 6.5" or 5.25" speaker. And prior to me switching, my 6x9" speakers were overpowering my front speakers. The sound wasn't NEARLY as good. Also, look at new cars, where are the speakers mounted? Do you see them mounted in the dash anymore? No, because SQ wise, they sound better in the door or at a kick panel location.

Alright, I'm done ranting. I would just like to say the service was excellent. I needed them expedited and shipped a method that he usually didn't ship. I paid a little extra for it, but he definitely worked with my needs, and was fast to answer all emails. Don't hesitate to get a pair of these kick panels... A+++!

Yeah i have had mine for 2 or 3 years. I think they blend seamlessly into the car. When i close my doors they line up perfect to the doors and the color on the doors. And the imaging was amazing. I actually had better hi-res pics of them installed with my Alpine SPX 6.5 Comps, but cant find where i have them stashed. Never the less a very worthwhile item!

Yep. Awesome. My interior is all black and the black carpet the kicks were covered in were an exact match to the color of my carpet. Blends seamlessly like i said.
