New TPS for LT1 intake conversion

I'm in the process of doing an LT1 intake along with an engine upgrade and ECM change on my brother's '91 Firebird (coming along quite nicely now as well).. As some of you with the LT1 intake may know, the standard TPI throttle position sensor interferes with the serpentine bracket on the passenger side... I have found a new sensor (available at Advance Auto under part # 779-3501) that bolts right in place of the old one, but has a vertical connector plug in.. Yahoo!! Here's the pics:

Actually, its kind of a funny story... I was at work (at Advance) experimenting with a sensor tester I found sitting around, so I just went back and grabbed a throttle position sensor off the shelf at random... After playing around with the sensor tester for a while it suddenly clicked in my head on what I was holding.. I was like "Hey look at that"... Then I looked up and compared to a stock TPI TPS and whaddaya know..

Glad to see you stuck with the lt1 intake. I don't care for it cosmetically, but that beats the heck out of grinding the bracket. I had to grind even more when I installed a BBK throttle body. If I'd do it all again I think I'd buy one of those.

I think it'd look better if the sensor wasn't gray... With it being gray and the rest of my color scheme being black, it kind of sticks out..

After my die grinder and I got angry at some of the bolt holes that still didn't line up, all was well... Didn't have to take much off really, but had to remove some material in most of the holes..

Here's a pic of the motor as of now... Next step is to do the rest of the wiring (extend the connectors from the TBI harness and add the multiport connectors).. After that I have to get creative with things like the cruise control servo, remote thermostat, and air filter ducting.. Hoping to be able to finish it up this weekend and start tuning with the Ostrich (thanks Craig!) next week!
