Did your stock injectors look like this?
Mine are black on top and gray/silver on the bottom half??
All the pics of injectors for 90-92 5.7 TPIs I saw for sale on eBay were all black with a light green stripe?
Anybody else have these black and gray injectors, now I have no idea what size they are, I thought they were 22#.
Thanks

the only injectors I have ever seen on a 3rd gen with a green stripe were tomco rotary disk injectors
maybe they have been replaced once? (just making a suggestion)
and as far as I know they are big distributors of replacement injectors

What I have discovered is the the 90-92 TPI 5.7s used Multec injectors, the black/gray ones. According to Rich at Cruizinperformance, these aren't worth cleaning and rebuilding as they are not worth it and are very unreliable injectors. But the injectors that can stock with the pre-90 TPI where very good and durable, they are Bosch sytl made by Rochester and are black with green stripe, so maybe thats why there are differing responses. So it appears that I do have the factory originals.
Thanks

The black injectors with the green stripe that you are referring to are manufactured by Lucas. They are a "disc" type injector and were installed on some F-bodies and also some Corvettes in late 1986 thru 1988. There were also sold by ADS and also Tomco as aftermarket replacement injectors. They will normally have the letters CAV on them but not always. The earlier Rochester injectors that were installed from the factory have the letters "RP" on them and are all black with no silver band or green stripe.
I've heard the same thing from other sources that the Multecs from 1989 thru 1992 aren't worth having serviced.
Hope this helps straighten out the confusion.
