__Strut tower brace??__

Just wanted to find out where you guys purchased your strut tower brace. How much did it cost? Does it mount in pre-existing holes or do you have to drill new ones? Post pics if you have some....thanks

i have a hotchkis model from summit and it works fine. you have to drill holes for it. you can definitely feel the steering change a little.

Don't strut tower braces get in the way of the engine? What if you needed to work on your engine for some reason? I was just curious.

yea, kinda.. if you need to work on the engine just unbolt the stb, its only 2 bolts that hold it in,,
i have the hotchkis and like it. its simple to get on and off if you need to.

I've got a STB from a company called MAC. It's no where near as good as the Hotchkis unit but no drilling is required, it just goes over the existing bolts for the struts. It does make a difference with the car's handling though. I think I paid $200 CAD for mine and well worth it.

I've heard the 3-pt. Edelbrock is better.

I have the Edelbrock on my car...It made a very noticable improvement in the handling of my car. I like it because it not only ties the strut towers together. It also ties into the cowl. The tower to tower braces will keep the towers from flexing. But they can still bend towards the cowl in a very hard turn. The tower to cowl brace keeps this to a minimum. Either is diffently an improvement over stock.

They dont really get in the way of changing plugs and tuneup things. But if you need to remove the plenum or something you would want to remove it. I can take mine off in five minutes.

I bought mine used for 75.00! Summit, jegs has them.

I made one for my Camaro, it looks just like the Edelbrock, I work at a machine shop so I just used leftover tubing and steel plate we had laying around and sawed it out and welded it together, works and looks great and didn't cost me anything but my time.

Intense92....I worked in a sheetmetal shop for 6 years. I really miss working there, I had everything I needed to build whatever. Plasma cutters, metal breaks, welders, ect. You can never have enough toys to play with.

Get a BMR brace. They are the cheapest, good looking, good quality, and you can get them in a variety of colors. I think they have them on Group Purchase for $75 dollars right now. Check out www.bmrfabircation.com
