Oil in HSR plenum

I removed the plenum on my Holley Stealth Ram to change the injectors and notice the inside is covered in a layer of oil. I know it is coming in from the PCV but is this normal? I do have the oil guards in the valve covers and they are tall covers. It's not enough oil to cause smoke and I havent seen the oil level drop but I only have about 100 miles (or less) on the 383 since building it. 10.82 compression w/230/236 cam. Thanks.

i have the same crap in mine. dunno if it's normal or not, cuz my intake keeps comming loose to the point where oil leaks out the back or up through the runners. might be blowby as well.

Well I'm thinking it may go away as the engine breaks in so I'll just keep my eye on it.

As far as sealing the base manifold; you need to let the permatex cure before you start the engine. I havent had any sealing problems since I adopted this method.

This has been discussed before. You only need 2-3 inches of vacuum for a pcv system. Not full manifold vacuum like many people are doing. Sure running full vacuum will keep oil off of your valves initially, but it will just drain down the intake and heads to the same place.
