Pics of my buffed & polished tailights
After seeing Joshp14's tailights, it inspired me to buff mine.
I went out to Sears and bought a Craftsman buffing kit which included 3 buffing pads (loose), emery compound, tripoli compound, white rouge, and red rouge.
I first applied the tripoli to the buffing pad, and started buffing them. After that, I wiped the lights off...and buffed with the white rouge. Then I buffed with the red rouge. Etc etc. To get some of the haziness out, I then polished them with Eagle One Aluminum polish on a rag. This made the tailights shine very bright...but there were still some fine scratches.
So for the final step, I wax them using Meguiars Gold Class wax. Here's the pics- HERE

Those are absolutely beautiful, I'm almost tempted to pull off my rear blackouts just so I can polish my lights. Very nice work.

Thanks for the compliments guys.
In the first pic, in person you can actually read the sign. That house is about 200feet away. I wish that pic was a little better, but the sign says "Dead End".

Yeah I though about it, but I already had all those compounds laying around from my aluminum polishing, and some ideas popped into my head....then one thing led to another

I beleive it was around 12-15 dollars.
I used a Craftsman drill when buffing.

Dang...I'm gonna get in the running and do mine, too...I have nothing but time on my hands....why not make the old taillights look as good as yours! Say, my center section has some warps in it, any ideas on how to straighten it out? Thanks
Looks awesome, guys!!!

Last question, then I'm off to Sears. You meantioned you used a Craftsman drill? I'm assuming there are some polishing attach ments I can buy that match up with the kit you bought?
