How do i reduce the filesize of a pic?
There's some pics up on these boards that are huge and i would think there is no way to get their filesize to under the 102kb limit. How do i reduce a picture's filesize without killing the actual size and quality completely? The pics that i get from my digi cam are usually around 450kb. thanks for any help

Well, you either sacrifice the size or the quality. (Technically, different files have different methods of compression, but let's not worry about that). I use Photoshop obviously, which is WAYYY overkill for simple resizing, but it's what I have. My picture/camera software let's me resize too.........and I'm sure some simple software like paint will do it...maybe?
Are you using JPegs?
You can post som high quality pics here and still have them pretty darn big.

Hello you !
I'm new on this forum, i usualy write on another (french) forum but i would to try another one.
For your question about the size of some pictures. Like "Abubaca" says, you can work with " Paint" (I do all the time for my site). The quality will be the same, the filesize will be less but the actual size (dimension in pixels or cm.) will be reduced.
You can try it...
...Take any picture you have in any format. Clic on it with the right button of the mouse, choose; "open with..." and clic on "Paint".
Paint will open that picture. On the left of the picture you have some buttons to do lines, drawing, writing, etc....
Clic on the one at the top right ( a button with a square in it )
Now go anywhere on the picture with your mouse and clic the right button of the mouse. Choose (in french, because i have a french edition of windows XP) "étiré / incliné".
In english, that will be something like " stretch / tilt".
Now your picture have a 100% horizontal and 100% vertical.
You have to reduce those " % " (keep the same amount for both). I mean, if you reduce the horizontal at 25% you have to reduce the vertical the same way. After you do those steps, save your work and that's it...
But remember this....When you reduce the " % ". Per example, if you put 25%, the picture will not be reduced of 25%...it will be reduced ot 75%. 'Cause the number you put, the picture will go at that size. I hope you understand what i mean.
If you want bigger picture, put bigger amount like 110%, 155%, 195%, 250%, etc....
