Has anyone EVER seen one of these things ????
Take a good look at this picture...... Has ANYONE ever seen this seat in a Camaro before ?? It's a lier Siegler contour seat from an 86 Camaro.
This is supposed to be the only one that had electric lumbar and side bolster adjustments. I'M NOT looking for info on the Firebird electric lumbar seats,........ but the Camaro ones !!!!
Is there anone that has ever even seen one before !

That image was taken directly from the 86 Camaro Sales brocure. I have seen then pictured in Camaro books and have read about them in many Camaro articals, But have not seen one in person........ yet !
I should be recieving this seat in about a week and wanted to see if there was another person out there in THIRGEN land that has ever seen one "in person" before.
This seat was SUPPOSED to be availible only in the Z28,....... but the one I bought was pulled from a regular 86 Sports Coupe. The Camaro books "white book" tell me there were only 184 of these things ever made.

Wow... that's neet. It's like the new improved version of the Lear Sieglar seat that never was.
Heres from the back! See the **** on the right side? There another one on the left side.
And the top pic ,the little cushion part under your thighs pulls out to different lenghts. There another **** on the left side in the first pic. For the cushions next to your hips!

That's a LS Contour seat, but it sure ain't the one in the picture. I've never, ever seen one like what was pictured. This might be a Willie question.

Yup,.......
I already know all about the "manual" Contour seats: The set in my car now originally came from an 85 Trans Am - I used them because the Camaro only had this option availible on the drivers side and this set has a contour seat on BOTH sides.
I'm really qurious to see how many people have actually ever seen one of the "electric" Contour seats since they were produced in such small numbers.

I have been looking for one of those '86 seats since I bought my car new in the summer of '86. Have yet to see a car with it, and if I were to find one, I would by it just for the seat. It was an option I tried to get. There were none available in dealer stock in any region as of March '86 when I started looking at Camaros, so it was probably an early intro item with short production. I have asked about this seat on the boards here periodically for the last couple of years, and have never gotten a reply from anyone who has ever seen one.

Here it is !!
The seat was mounted in a 1986 Sports Coupe....... I know what the book says but the car was definitely a Sports Coupe with the custom interior. It had the correct rear light, correct factory Radio w/EQ, correct interior, correct "auto dimming" mirror, and the body style is unmistakable with the 3 thin slots in the nose, narrow grill w/Fog Lights, and yellow Park lights. A really "High End" Camaro.
I asked him to get the console lid for me so I could confirm the Codes - but the console was already gone when I called (along with most of the interior.)
I have no idea how long it will take - but it WILL replace the Manual Contour drivers seat in my carright now ! The seats 3-button control panel will look good next to the 7 option buttons on my console !

Update --->>>
Just figured I gloat a little !!!
I dropped off the seats with the upholsterer today...... He's got the Electric air bladder Lier Siegler seat for the drivers side & a manual (with *****) LS seat for the passenger side.
With the snails pace this guy works at I figured I would give him the seats now and then I would have a chance at getting them back for next spring !!! I'll post a picture once they are completed....
Since I will have the electric one in my ThirdGen I had to use the set I already had made somewhere else !!! They fit into my 95Z28 like they were made for it !!!!

I love those seats. Are you getting that new one done with the "CAMARO" fabric or something more plain? I've got a set of flo-fit seats and I'm tossing around the idea of having them reupholstered with the CAMARO material if I can find any.

I gave the upholsterer enough "CAMARO" cloth to recover the front buckets....... I will also need to have the rear seats done some time in the future - just too much goin' on right now to have them done too !!
He still has to find the correct factory Black bolster matierial for me - with any luck he will be able to find the correct fabric !!
Jim,........... I still have some of this factory fabric hangin' around - what color are you thinking about using in your IROC ??? You have gray right now right ???
The Black / Gray fabric was only used with Black Bolster fabric from the factory - but I sold a guy some Black/Gray fabric and he used it along with gray bolster matierial........ Looks REAL nice in that way too !!
