Burnt 3-4 clutches

What would cause my 700R4 to burn the 3/4 clutches?

The transmission has aproximatly 30k miles on it

Hayden cooler
vette servo
B4C wot upshift valve
superior shift kit (ick)

They toasted as I was passing a car, no more tranny.

Whats the most likely candidate?

Car: 1991 Corvette Coupe
Engine: L98
Transmission: 700R4/4L60 same trans different name
how hard do you drive your car?

the 3-4 clutch pack is the 700R4's weakest point (of many)

In no way that should result in a 30k mile life of a tranny

its been a year to the date since it was installed

In fact, the way you drive the car, the TV cable adjustment, and that the "Inferior", excuse me, Superior valve body kit does nothing for the 3-4 clutch pack, has "everything" to do with it.

Believe me the superior kit was just a turn of bad luck

I had the transmission built by a less than straight forward guy, the only thing that made it INTO the tranny per my spec was the vette servo and b4c valve. I had worried about that kit from day one.

Would it be reasonable to replace the bands and install a new kit and go? Or do I ***need*** to completely rebuild it all?
