Twin turbo top mount ICs

Anyone running turbo, or twin turbo setups ever thought of using a topmount IC like a T-bird or a Subaru? I was looking at pics of my engine bay and thought that it would package fairly well. Better than a front mount IC anyway. I guess this is what happens when you get bored.

I've placed the order for my cores but they havent been shipped yet... I'm doing a dual air to water setup that will put an intercooler over each valve cover with a common plenum between them that bolts over my throttle body.

I've given it serious thought, but I havn't gotten to the serious/try to fabricate it stage yet on mine. I think I'll end up sticking to alky injection and an air-water cooler, just because it'll be easier to package. With the strut towers like they are on our cars, there isn't much room up there.

If you look at one of those cheesy twint turbo hoods, you'll notice that they bulge up just behind the battery boxes. one of those would help make the job alot easier..but I don't actually wanna run one

Well assuming you're talking air to air intercoolers, top mount is not a very good design. Most guys who get turbo cars and upgrade go from a top mount to a front mount. Top mount places the intercooler right over your engine (heat). Front mount is out at the front catching air (cooler). The front mount is more effective.

Would be interesting to see a TMIC on a thirdgen.. You'd have to have one hell of a nice hood to get cool air into it though...
