If the tv cable is out of adjustment, would it cause the reverse to not work? I can put it in reverse and it acts like its in neutral and in neutral its in drive. After I rev the engine up, it goes back to working fine. Its a 700r4. Any help would be appreciated.:hail: :hail: :hail:

 

Maybe the shifter is out of adjustment at the transmission.Theres a lever mounted on the trans that the ****er cable is bolted too.Also check the fluid level of the trans.

Fluid has been checked twice this week. It only does it on a down or up grade when I park it. After I rev it up a little, it`ll lock into the correct gear. Its only done it twice.

 

can not be tv cable, weird though, sounds like something minor inside the tranny, hope it does not turn into something major. Maybe you should not park there anymore.

that happened to me in my 85 2.8 V6
it just stopped doing it after a while then about 3 months latey
the tranny went out all gears so it might need a new tranny
