Talked with Holley about HSR and...

They said it would work with the Vortec heads. What do you guys with the HSR think. Will it work or will you have problems with anything? Are the ports too tall or anything like that?

considering that you can see daylight with a 1206 gasket, I have a hard time believing it'll work with vortecs.

The HSR will not work with the Vortec heads. They are for traditional SBC heads(early or late style).

the bolt angles are way different. not that you couldn't elongate the holes. but they are also raised higher to boot. working on my new website dedicated to the stealthram. www.stealthram.com if you have one and would like a link to your site from there just email me with the link. plus any info is greatly appreciated.

It wont work without alot of fab work, and I mean alot!!!! Out of the box a Vortec intake port is just as tall as a 1206 gasket. The Stealthram takes a 1205 and leaves very little room for porting, a 1206 is not possible.

I have held all off these parts in my hand, it just aint close, someone has pics floating around here somewhere.

If it was possible there would at the least some converted LT1 intakes on Vortecs around but there isnt, cause it just aint worth it.

Thanks for the info. It is kind of sad that the people at Holley are telling me that I would be able to use their intake with the Vortec head. If you would like I could paste the email the I got from them.

look carefully at the add! the stealth ram is not designed to work with vortec heads, (YES it can be redrilled to get the bolt holes alined & machined to get the ports matched fairly simply at a machine shop and can be made to work but its beyond the average home hobbyist level to do so, IF your looking to get the ports exactly matched!)
HERES VORTEC HEADS

heres normal 23 deg heads

notice the slightly differant ports shape and bolt hole locations and angles of entry and the non-existant center bolts on the center two bolt locations, BTW some vortec heads ARE available drilled BOTH WAYS from some of the chevy dealerships

Namely the alluminum Fast Burn heads. But there is still a dramatic difference in port height.
