opps!! guestion about stock head lift
hey guys, i was thinking today. i built my 383 with a lt4 hot cam, and putting back the stock heads for now, till i get money to swap to trickflows, when it occuried to me that i just about made a mistake doh, i realize and did a shearch on the post, that the stock l98 spring goes up to about .480 and the hot cam is .492 with stock rockers, so i did the shearch and came up with a post that vader had answered with these [URL=http://www.competitionproducts.com/page25.html]
these are supposed to be just drop in springs, that will work , and will give me the extra lift i need ,
now my guestion is has anyone tried these, and if so, pros and cons, i dont have alot of knowledge on vauletrain , so excuse me if i sound off the wall, i had to get longer comp hardend pushroads when the guy built my motor the stock pushroads were to short to work with the hotcam according to my engine builder, but bascially long story short i just dont want to take any chances on cam shavings in my internal motor, intill i can dicth the whole l98 heads, and get trickflows and 1.6 rockers, thanks guys , long post sorry

, thanks , i just checked at summit, atleast they dont coast much about 30 bucks for arp's ,anyone know what torque pound it is to put the screw arms in , or is it just hand tight, good to go, i feel like just pulling the heads back off, and selling them on ebay, but to be honest doing a rough test on dyno 2000,

and tf heads 2.220 intake 1.600 exh 64cc
slp 3/4 headers and open exhaust
block deck 0
guessing compression around 13-12.50 ?
it pulled 500 tq and about 480hp
now subtract about 50hp for using stock heads and another 20hp for misc
im still looking at about 410hp motor, which i can live with
so thats why im not willing to lay down 2grand right now on heads, plus the heads are allready on and all that mess,
, anymore thoughts on getting these stock heads working with .510 lift
