bad motor mount pic
I decided to replace my motor mounts after a lot of research. My 89 iroc has had a noticible vibration around 2500rpm, even in park. So here is a pic of a bad motor mount, my car has 100k miles so, I'll test it tommorrow when I finish the other side. The metal was touching metal, the rubber had deteriorated badly over the years. Man what a difference just look at the pics, I went with the stock replacements since the rest of my suspension is real ruff, I didn't want to have a harsher ride.

Here are some more pics of the process. Its time consuming and you just need to remember to have these tools: 3/8" drive with 2 10" extensions, 15mm socket, u-joint socket attachment, permatex, coat hanger, jacks of course, I used a piece of wood to jack the motor up by the dampener. The permatex keeps the bolt/nut in the socket while you put everything back together. The coat hanger is for retrieving nuts/bolts from the crossmember when you drop them. Just remember you can leave the control arm and everything on to get to these bolts, you just have to position and angle through holes and inbetween the coils of the spring.
