New pics of my smoked plexi dash.
Some of you had asked questions in the past about the darkness and construction of my smoked out dash. I recently took it out for a bit of a makeover and got some shots of it. I'll stick a few here the rest are here

The part around the gauges was sanded smooth and painted with Spies-Hecker base/clear black. All the other gray plastic on the dash is now satin black, so the whole interior is now black and red.Shannon did all of that, with the exception of spraying the base/clear. This was the main project for before the TA Nats...they were last weekend. Shannon (Redraif) got 2nd in Heavy Custom, and Kid's Choice from the Special Wish Foundation at the Tipp City Cruise.
Heavy Custom was a tough class this year, with a couple cars we have competed against before (particularly a candyapple red TA from Ontario and an orange/silver bird from TN). There was also a nice Kitt replica and a white Tojan, the first I have ever seen. I honestly didn't know if we would place (they went three deep in the class), but I was really surprised the winner wasn't the ON or TN car...it was a black Firebird that I wouldn't have placed in the top five. Rumor had it (from a very good source ) that he was friends with one of the judges...that would explain it. I wasn't too mad about it, for us, but I felt that the other two cars were cheated...TN should have been 1 or 2, and ON 3.
Next year will be even tougher...there was a very nice radical custom TA from Arkansas there that wasn't quite finished, and I'd pick him to win next year...unless we really get busy!

Right on Joe, sounds like a damn nice show! I was thinking it wasn't til next month, but I've been a bit scatterbrained lately. I'm sure mixed judgiing would get under my skin if I would have gone to all the trouble for something like that. But I never really expect to win anything lol. Have you guys ever gone up to the Bowling Green F body invasion? I'm pretty sure I'm gonna make the trek up there next week, just trying to talk my pops into it so he can spring for a hotel

Here is the link to more shots of what I do have
Here it is still masked and fresh...
In the car...
The pic with the piping back in is so far away you can't tell anything
