92 rs tbi 305, it wants to be tpi, how?
hi my ant has a 1992 rs tbi 305 5 spd, with 82,000 on it, just this weekend she got a new mustang
, and she was goin to trade in her car, but they were only goin to give her 1500, so now im thinkin about buying it, the car is in great shape, but i would like to convert it to tpi, what would i need and how invalved is it? also about how much am i lookin at spending on just the stock tpi swap and parts? i know she babys it and takes good care of it, so i think there should still be some good years left in her, with only 82,000 on it. what do you all think? and how much is she worth?

I would only use a set of TPI heads and then retain your TBI. You will make more top end hp for less money with TBI than you will converting to the stock GM TPI.
After you do basic mods like headers and a full exhaust you can look into a heads and cam swap. Assuming you have the above mentioned parts you can have nearly 300hp that pulls to 6k rpm.
You can get an LT1 cam for less than 20 bucks and 081 TPI heads for less than a hundred. Chip burning stuff will run you about 200 and an intake will run you about 150 (you could even keep the stocker if you wanted, it sucks but it would suffice).
You wouldn't have to change any wiring or anything. You could even take it a step farther and get a 350 shortblock to put those parts on.
When you have TBI it is not worth switching to TPI unless you go with a better induction and more cubic inches.

Since you asked the same question here https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...23#post2258823 , and this really isn't an Engine Swap topic, we'll let the other one handle the questions.
