do you know what this relay does?
it's tied into the factory harness which is just before the electric hatch and light. located on the back wall of the hatch where the tail lights are mounted?
nice.. thanks.
i foudn that with it removed i if i use the electric trunk i have to hold the switch in and the hatch moves. unlike with the relay in where you hit the switch once and it comes up automatically. just curious as it gets extremely hot for somereason or another when it's plugged in.

Could be a problem in your hatch pull-down motor causing a larger than normal current draw, but I don't know offhand how I'd go about testing that.

I don't understand this diagram. It doesn't help that original wiring was hacked up. WTF do the red/white and black/orange wires go. Does it matter that replacement motor does not have electric release?
