Comp. Ratio Questions...

Where I live I have 24/7 access to 100 octane pump gas.

For my 426.7ci SBC build up, what would be the highest compression I can run? I was thinking 12.5:1. The reason I ask is because I was going to run a ProCharger D-Series but I decided I wanted to go naturally aspirated for maintanence sake/sleeper look and since I have 100 octane gas readily available I can run a high comp. ratio and still get good HP numbers.....

Go for it. But I pity ya that day you go to get gas and they don't sell it anymore for some reason. Then you'll have to pull yer heads just so you can get gas.

Hey, Bakersfield... that's where I bought my Iroc.

Well they have sold it for years now and I don't see them stopping any time soon, WAY too many people buy it for them to stop selling it but if they ever did, I'll just drive my happy a$$ down to my local circle track and get some 105 octane

heh, no kidding. 105 around here is about 3 bucks a gallon.

I bought my Iroc from a bunch of street racers there, and if he's anything like them... he has a beater car for trips.

If I ever want to drive somewhere I have my beater Toyota for good milage or my 92 GTA. Hell I could even drive one of my Porsche's if I wanted to. This engine is going a 91 GTA that will be mostly for racing and cruising around killing all the ricers I can find and going to local cruise-in's....

Brodix 8 Pro Aluminum heads with 220-230cc intake ports and 109.26cc combustion chambers.

Intake Valves 2.080 and Exhaust Valves 1.600 in size.

96 lb/hr Fuel Injectors.

Is that enough

Are those SBC or BBC Heads? Just wondering because I've never heard of a small block head with 109.26cc combustion chambers. Or was that a misprint?

Just never heard of a SBC head with that big of a chamber. With a chamber that big you'd probably have some really low compression ratio and with all of the surface are more of a problem with detonation. I really doubt you need 96lb per hour injectors. How fast do you plan on going?

Well all of the stuff I have planned came well recommended and with the cam and everything, on Desptop Dyno the engine made 977HP and that was with every single possible variable entered. I figure an 8-9 sec 1/4 miles with the right traction.....

Care to post the dyn file to that engine? I'd like to see how to make 2+ hp / cube. Those chambers do sound pretty huge, the heads I'm getting only have 64cc chambers for 10.1:1 compression.

*** that was over 2 years ago. I'll just post all of the parts that I got referred and you guys can just tell me what will work and what won't and we can build a desktop dyno file from that....

I'll start a new post for it later when I get home....

I would like the get this right before I buy parts

That 977 I quoted was using the ProCharger and about 15lbs of boost before I decided not to use forced induction, my bad

I have no idea what this combo would make without forced induction. I'll post the entire package a little later...
