Anyone used ZEX nitrous?
i just got a helluva deal on a zex kit (55-75hp),
thought it might be fun for a `lil extra boost, nothin' crazy.
they say it's safe for stock engines, and my L98 has only 45K miles, think i'm good to go?
i just have the kit though, should i bother with the bottle heater, pressure gauge, purge kit?
also, for the purge kit, they say it creates the "snow machine" effect, what the hell is that?
thanks for the help y'all.

The only reason I don't like the Zex kits is b/c they are a "dry" shot. I've good things about Zex though.
The bottle heater is great. Get a fuel and bottle pressure gauges. They are worth the money just for piece of mind. The purge isn't necessary. But thats the coolest thing about Nitrous.

yah i understand about the dry shot, but for the small amount of boost i'm looking for i'm going to try it. dryer safer, wetter better, right?
anywayz, what's so good about a purge kit, i understand it cleans the lines, but what does it do that's so visually cool?

When you purge it blows a big nitrous cloud out of your cowling, and yes it's a very good thing to have, I cut .4 of a second off in the 1/8 mile but just installing the purge.

And that delay would be a loss of E.T. on the track right??Right! So is performance is the target (like it's not with nitrous) I think the purge is just as necessary as a bottle heater, if not more.

Purge is for consistancy
I run a purge on my car and have only seen a benefit in consistancy. The systems are designed to operate at a given bottle pressure thus providing maximum performance. Purging provides a method to clear gaseous lines, thus giving soft hitting systems with an instant "on" effect. As for your .4 sec increase, its probably do to the placement of your lines near heat sources like your headers or intake. The purge is providing you with a way to clear your gaseous filled lines, not a way to improve the power of the kit, only to get a harder launch on the line.

So you never noticed a harder hit? Don't you think getting a purge FOR a harder hit would be a good investment? And I know I'm not improving power, it's efficiency that's being improved. It's also impossible to not route the line near some heat source.I'm just saying don't overlook the purge, it did great things for me.
