Turbo Stuff: READ THIS IF YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT TURBOS

For guys asking the same turbo questions over and over......
There are no kits. Read Turbochargers by Hugh MacAinnes and Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. Check out www.skulte.com , www.toohighpsi.com , and the junkyard turbo mailing list on yahoo. Doing a search with "turbo" netted me almost 600 results....

Thanks!

Thanks for taking the effort to post that list. It'd be nice to have that permanently linked... Any idea how?

I have no idea how to make more permanent links. About the only thing I can think to do is try and archive the information and put it on my website sometime. If I can come up with a little bit of time I'll look into it.

Are you kidding? LOL Mike's page is probably one of the best known DIY turbo pages to use for reference. If his site went offline tomorrow, I would contact him to host it just because it is a super resource for DIY type of stuff on the web! LOL

Guido's right. His page is probably the best known DIY turbo page around, and one of the best IMO. Wouldn't mind meeting him though. Hey, maybe we should have a meet for all of the Power adder guys to come together and shoot the ****. That would be pretty fun. Anyway, back to my hole.

You know, timing/chance is funny, I've been going back and forth with Mike online forever, talked to him on the phone, bought and traided parts... but never met him in person (actually missed him by 15 minutes once because he had to go get his wife in a snow storm and couldn't make it out the next time becuase I was sick as a dog, and well, snow messed up the next one...). OTOH, I've met his dad (crazy Joe, spent a night shooting the **** with him and messing around with his car...) and most of his family.

We were planning on getting together some time this spring but it looks like he's moving back to michigan so that probably won't happen...

yea.. i think they should all go by the name crazy.. apparently, mike has gotten much larger turbo for his 351(which already ran 9 something at around 140), and has plans in the making that just make the current setup look like kids play.. I haven't met them either, but went to school with a friend of theirs, trever(has the tt 460 fairmont on that site).

Mike just upgraded from a the original 72mm garret to a 76mm garret (until about a month ago he worked at Lycoming, they're large frame aircraft turbos). He just dynoed that combination at 602hp at the wheels a couple of days ago and is now going to pull the TECII for an AEM, and I belive that he's looking to go with more boost from there.

Amazon claims to carry every book ever published, they have free shipping on a lot of them too. Both those books can be had in a package deal if you scroll down to the 'better together' section here:

it will spool fast but be done around 12 psi if u do the useual mods liek ported heads , cam port the intake

get a ebay gt3582 instead it spools up almost as fast makes much mor epower at lower boost levels , and is enough turbo to make ur car run low 11's or better with all the supporting mods.

if u do get that turbo dont get that exact one u can find the same thing for 119$ shipped on ebay if u look around , the gt3582 is around 215$ shipped and is a umuch better choice
