Yeah, that is my Iroc. I too figured it was a Kettering student as well, whom else would what to do stuff in Flint unless you have to be there? I should have my Iroc in running order by then. I had some problems with hesitation, but wasn't too bad. However, in the last week it took a major dump and ran like crap if at all. Had GM shop check it out and they said my ecm and some other sensor needs to be replaced. So I have to find out some more in depth details before it gets running again.

we can have a modfest also... i start kettering on the 3rd and classes start the 7th i believe...lets do something between the 4th and 6th? or we can have a bad *** mod-fest. i have ripped so many thirdgens apart and built many motors and done a few gear swaps...i think i can do almost anything on a thirdgen. i also am parting out my 90 rs. if any1 needs anything i will be there next wednesday/thursday. i can bring it then. i got a bunch of interior panels, starters, hei distributors w/o vacuum advance, poly bushing kit, chrome edelbrock headers, chrome valve covers, chrome oil pan, and lots more. will be selling cheap so if interested just email me a request. thank *** i am not gonna be the only thirdgen lover at kettering!

More than you needed to know
I work for Cosworth Technology in Novi, MI (45 min. southeast of Flint). This is the same Cosworth that did a lot of work with Lotus and Ford in its day. Ford bought the Cosworth-Racing name so that is why it is called Cosworth-Technology. Audi and VW actually own Cosworth now and the parent is in the UK.
Engines built/designed by Cosworth recnetly:
Cadillac Cien Concept
Aston Martin Vanquish
Ford Focus Turbo (production and a rally version)
Other big programs:
Bi-Fuel Automobiles
Snap on car diagnostics
Automotive Communications between sensors and computers
On-Star version for non-GM vehicles
Supercharged Mustang Steedas
Cosworth also has 6 dynos and does alot of testing for Audi and Harley Davidson
A little long description, but I really like working there.

I co-op for Stanley Assembly Technologies in Cleveland, ohio. We make high precision assembly tools, mainly used in automotive assembly. You know all those bolts in your car, well our tools put all of them in (or our competitors). The current tools are all electric tools and have very sophisticated control systems. I'm a Comtpuer Engineering major so I work on the control systems. Just to give you some idea, the cheapest tool and controller setup we sell lists at just under $10,000. Prices go up significantly from that.
Right now I'm working on implementing a propriatery infra-red communications protocol to communicate with our tools from a Windows CE or PalmOS based PDA.
About kettering in general, well, its an engineering school, and there arent many girls there. Its in flint, which is a pretty crappy city. The area immeadiately around kettering isn't too bad and there's alot of student rental housing in the community. Go about 1/2 mile east of school and its a pretty bad neighborhood.
If you dont have a co-op already start looking cause the coop job market is super ****ty right now.

On the kettering note, one of the guys on our Mini-Baja race team has written some rants up about kettering. They're somewhat exxagerated of course, but for the most part dead on.

cfabe's house is only like 5 min from work so he lives at home. i live in cleveland too but my co-op is a bit south of toledo and they pay for my apartment and mileage for driving here and back. the only thing i pay for here is food and cable internet.
i work for honeywell in their spark plug division. we make autolite and splitfire plugs and plugs for motorcraft, mazda, jaguar and also some ac delco. i'm an ME major so i'm in the engineering part of the plant. right now most of my work is running tests on plugs and then writing test reports with the help of engineers. the more time i spend there the more my work is shifted to engineering. i like it a lot there.
as far as school i have a lot fun there but i slacked too much last term and failed a class. you can't be lazy there. cfabe and i are both on the mini baja team which kicks ***, check it out on my website. over half the students are in frats/sororities but it wasnt my bag (read: not an alcoholic) so i'm renting a house with a few friends. i recommend you go to all rush events cuz the events are fun and the frats pay for everything, including beer
Yeah, there are very few girls there but i hear your incoming class has quite a bit (relatively)

SO sometime between Oct 4-6th? You guys should really come to the Michigan GM Event at Mid-Michigan Motorplex instead. Its the best track in Michigan and there will be a sh*t load of GM cars like Firebirds, trans ams, camaros, corvettes, grand am gtps, typhoons, syclones, and any other gm car that was ever made to compete. It is on Oct. 5th and it starts at 8:00am and u get to run ur car as many times as u like from 8:00-1:00 and then from 1:00-3:30 they have bracket racing which if anyone knows, its not the fastest car that wins but the one that runs the most consitent time. But for u speed demons they do have the quick sixteen. Cash prizes. The GM Power Tour shows up and displays all their bad *** machines and has a tent with engines, parts and video games. After the event we all usually go out and party later that night. Its loads of fun guys, you should all try to come up for it. I think cost is 35.00 to race and do everything.
Im from CLIO, if I can get my car back together by then I'll deffinatly be there!!!
I should have it done by then, not sure it it will be painted but i should be able to have it on the road..

Flint's about an hour northwest of detroit. date and location have not been decided yet, i just wanted to see how much interest there was first. i'm going to try to have it on campus at kettering on one of the fields called 'the beach', it's at 3rd and chevrolet ave. it will probably be either the weekend of the 12th or 19th, maybe even the 26th but definately not the 5th cuz that's the weekend before classes start for kettering guys.

Hey 91Bird305,
How do u like your KYB Gr-2 Struts?
I put mine in a couple of months ago and I dont really like them. They dont seem very stiff. The front end sways back and forth too much when I'm going around corners. I've got a strut tower brace and all new poly bushings. I almost think the stock ones I took off were stiffer.

i havent set a place yet, i'm gonna try to have it on campus but i won't be there til oct 6. if you guys know of any good places aruond there let us know
Just keep it outta the ghetto. I would recommend Fenton or Holly myself just for the safety of your cars. I can't make it due to unforseen transmission problems.
I guess the winter project will have to start early this year
