Engine Bay sheet metal project done!
Engine Bay sheet metal project done!
For some of you guys who have been following this, it will be redundant. For those others, I decided to cut sheet metal to cover my rear firewall and the front sides of the car so that the bay had a smoothed look to it. It was a huge job but well worth it. I used sheet metal, welding, bondo, tons of sanding and a three stage pearl. I have the motor in there now too but I am way behind on pics. Heres the process:

I was wondering how ya went coz I remember your post.
Looks like you spend a long time in the garage.
Just wondering how many BEERS did it take to get the job done?
you got more pics comin?

The project hasnt affected the bay temp because the sheet metal was painted. Either way the bay is hot because my 383 stroker runs hot.
I have more pics coming. The new motor is in there now but Im just trying to get it going right. I was running the wrong spark plugs. Im also hooking up my NX nitrous kit at the moment. The project took a good 2 1/2 weeks. Sanding and bondo was the worse. Cuttng the sheet metal wasnt so fun either. I had cuts all over my hands.

You did a really nice job it looks like! However, it seems like a very painful way to add weight to the front end...something I am always trying to avoid. Nontheless, that took a lot of craftsmanship and looks very nice!
