DFI with Stealthram or Demon carb with Brodix intake?

K right now I have a 355 with a 274/274 Duration 557/557 lift cam, Sportsman IIs Heads. I have DFI and the Stealthram, the heads are ported for a 1206 gasket, will the Stealth are only ported to 1205. The other thing is I have a TH400 with a 5500 stall, the cam requires a 5000, well the Stealth is only good to 6000 and I plan on leaving off the brake and spraying. That is gonna put me way past my rpms.

Should I just sell the DFI Setup and Intake and by a Demon Carb setup with Intake? I noticed they are into the 8000rpm range.

Any help would be appreciated.

you nailed it in my opinion. A nice brodix or wilson race manifold, with a demon would be far better then the Stealth Ram. What do you want for the DFI???

Well I would stick it on ebay where I know I could get atleast 7 for it. I have the whole wiring harness that is spliced into the stock harness for the lights and stuff, ready to go.

You could always convert to a single plane EFI setup. Since you already have the DFI, it should not be difficult for you to run such a setup, and the RPM range would not be limited anymore because the manifold is a carb manifold anyway.

If the above idea is not to your liking, then yes I would go with a carb.

Yup, if you like the EFI approach, look at the Accel Pro Ram. Looks about like a Victor with injector bungs, and a 1100 CFM 4-barrel TB on top instead of a carb.

If you already have the DFI setup....keep it...

As you know, it will be a much better deal in terms of tuning, etc.

Most people don't want to make the plunge to EFI for cost/complexity reasons, but since you have already done it, why go back?

I vote Super Victor single plane EFI setup...with a 5500 stall, you aren't driving this thing on the street, right?

Yes it will be driven on the street, but no more then 20 miles or so a week.

That still sounds like a strip car to me... Just because it can go a few miles without burning out the trans doesn't mean it isn't a race car...

I should have specified and said "streetable".

Why don't you want to keep the DFI setup? Money could be better spent in other places or what?

I figure I can get 1000 for the whole setup
DFI with the Stealth minus the Rails.

A nice dominator for 600 and a Brodix for 3 and my setup is done.

I still havent gotten the fuel rails or injectors, so I actually will be saving.

Yes it is still a race car but if it can be driven on the street it is a streetcar.

I see the point on the carb setup...but I still think it would be better to keep the EFI for consistant tuning...

Glad to see you can keep your perspective on this "street car" deal...I know a few guys with race only setups who swear their cars are "streetable" because the thing will move down the road under its own power for a short ways
