I need to find a sleeve for this 45 tooth speedo gear...anyone know where to get one?

I'm going to hit the speed limiter going through the trap

speedo sleeve

www.700r4.com has the sleeve listed for $55.25, but they also list the complete set for $ 60.00. How much is the sleeve at the
GM dealer? Your local tranny shop should also have a source for
good used sleeves.

Hmm....I thought the driven gear was the one on the end of the VSS? When I changed the VSS in my 92 Firebird, the gear on the end looked nothing like those pictured, nor was there anything even remotely resembling that sleeve. The gear that was on the end of the VSS just sat on the VSS's metal rod. I'm correct in assuming that's the driven gear, right?

Have you gone down to the dealer and checked with them, also the shop manual says that it is not used on all models.
And yes the gear on the vss is the driven gear.

Thanks Phillip

I guess I may not need one. I've been waiting because everything I read I did. All along I had no clue what sleeve they were talking about because I didn't remember one on my 92.

Here's what gear they're trying to sell on 700r4

Here's mine:

Here's some pics for a tech article if anyone wants to write it.

And no, I guess the VSS tranny's don't need sleeves.

Here's the VSS on the tranny

The sleeve if it has one goes between the drive gear and the output shaft.
