One of the nicer older third gens I have seen. That hood looks like a newer GTA hood, they did not have the grills in the original hoods did they?

Beautiful car, I have a soft spot for 82's =) Original 82 Trans Ams had the power bulge hood, the one on his car is a later Trans Am hood...post 84? Some real early 82 TA's had the plain flat hood though.

Impressive.

Very nice indeed. Do you have any more pics of the interior, more detailed ones perhaps? Its looking really clean in that one shot.

Didn't the power bulge first appear in 83 with the H.O. Trans Am (and then later adopted by the Fromula) I think the rest were flat.

SC82TA I see in your stock picture of the 82 TA you have the power bulge so I am wrong. Maybe it was just the six cylinders that got the flat hood.

Yes it used to have the power buldge hood. It was too rusty to repaint. I wanted to get another power buldge hood but theyre hard to find and expensive. Im also missing the small gfx in front of the rear wheels, mine were all chipped up. Theyre also hard to find in good shape.

Looks pretty good there. Certanately looks better than my 87. I don't come across too many nice looking 82s. I usually I don't like those rims, but they seem to go well with the 82.

Its ok omcrider =) But like I did say they were available since 82....made functional on the Cross Fire Injection cars, on carbed cars the hood just had the opening cut out...when the Formulas came out in 87 they brought back the power bulge hood but it was non functional. 6 cylinder and 4 cylinder cars had the flat hood, there were I believe some S/Es with V8s that had a flat hood as well and like I mentioned before really early 82 Trans Ams may have had a flat hood as well I believe the later 82s with the power bulge hood were 82 1/2 cars. Remember KITT from Knight Rider he was an 82 had the power bulge hood =)

Oh and yeah the little gfx for 82s are hard to find. My rear ones are still intact but I broke off one of my front ones, but a body shop was able to fix it. Mark Scrivani from Marks Custom Kits sells fiberglass repro 82 gfx, but he is known to have ridiculous prices, so unless you're desperate I'd just try and find them at a junkyard because he charges $300 for an unfinished set. However I've seen a few hoods, I might know someone that is selling a power bulge hood for $100 but I'm not sure how shipping would be. If interested I can find out.

wow!!!

Very nice job!! Way to represent the 82-84's, I haven't seen that many on here, guess we're the minority! That hood flows really well, only enthusiasts will know it's not original. I've got the same hood on my 84.

Spectra Red...Nice choice!

Looks alot nicer than my 22 year old paint!

My interior is charcoal, is yours the same? It almost looks like a dark brown in the pictures.

I started this post like a year ago, Im suprised it was brought up again. Kanuck, the interior is actually black. Its faded a bit but it looks really light in the pic because of the sun. Mods for this winter are: Polish the rims, Tint, new windshield, bigger tires. Thanks for all the compliments.

Hey Kanuck I was noticing on you web site all that black coating in your engine bay. Mine used to be just like that. All it takes to get it off is 2 weeks of srubbing.

Yeah, I hate that stuff. But I guess it saved the car. I think I'll wait until I eventually have to pull the engine before I tackle that.

Blecchh.

Does your heart good to see an early 'Bird looking like that beauty. Very nice job! Oh, by the way- my Birdy is Spectra red with same color interior. But..... that's not why I love it.

I love seeing the early thirdgens get fixed up. That is the same color of my 84 Firebird. Interior color is the same as mine too.
