More mysterous disaperances.

i noticed that in the suspension board, the threads about the brake upgrades have gone AWOL. i know the policy about not having ot explain it, but i was hopeing someone might explain why something goes from sticky status to gone over night.

also there was a thread about removing of the torque arm and doing a 4 link style suspension that diapeared also, i guess i am wondering if the new TGO policy is to remove inovative threads because it might hurt our beloved suspension selling sponsers, if someone builds a system that removes a part that our sponsers sell.

Was there any recent responses to the thread that was a sticky? Because I noticed that if I remove a sticky that was last replied to 5 days ago for example, it will drop all the way to the other posts that have last been replied to 5 days ago.

I'm not sure what the sticky was, but if it was a locked sticky and it was originally made 2 months ago, it will be dropped all the way to where the other 2 month old posts are.

Sorry, I don't know then.

I really hope they aren't being deleted because of the sponsors.

deleted because they were in violation of the user agreement and the board rules. explainations were given to the people involved. why don't you e mail or pm someone that might know instead of posting where no answer is linkely to be given?

sorry ed, but i'm calling this time.

how could several threads on how to build a performance brake system be against the user agreement? it was a technical discussion!

it looks like the information will have to be posted on a board that is actually able to define what a technical discussion is, instead of here at thirdgen.org.

that violation of the user agreement is a cop-out, and you know it.

i'm sorry for making you so upset to where you had send such a nasty reply, ed... i didn't come out and call you explicit names, now did i? i certainly don't deserve being called such names back.

however, the problem still remains. it was a valid technical discussion. now if the thread was deleted because of someone offering to sell conversion parts, then why not make the notice known to everyone? i'm sure the people involved will be more than happy to take their conversion information elsewhere.

as soon as i start tearing my one car down, i'll start laying out information on how to do a big brake swap.

i just won't post it here.

ede, i read the thread about converting from a torque arm to a 4 link style suspension, when i read it last night, there was no mention of the sale of a single part, just discusion of the location of the upper arms.

now if something happened in that thread that violated the user agreement between then and the time i get to work, then i am in the wrong here, but from the nature of the thread i highly doubt that is the case, seeing as there is no one that i am aware of that sells parts for a 4link conversion.

like i said above, if your interpritation of the user agreement, is that any thread that may involve inovation, and may result in someone modifing their car to a point that it doesn't involve a torque arm (which what 4 of our sponsers sell on their sites) then come out and say that.

also, the reason i posted here, is that in the past when threads have been deleted, and i have PM'd YOU (as you suggested to use PM) i either got a nasty reply, or no reply. so i am going to post it here. feel free to respond to me in whatever way you see fit, if you want to send me a nasty PM calling me names, you are more than welcome too.

dewey, sorry i have no knowledge of a thread about converting to a 4 link never saw ir nor read it. i doubt if that would hurt any sponsers much since it's more a drag racing only set up. no idea where it went or why. i got confused and thought this was in referance to something totally unrelated.

I hate to drag this on but WHATEVER happened to what Dewey316 was talking about....was it the LS1 brake conversion setup that was deleted? Granted if someone was violating the rules of TGO and selling parts I can understand a locked thread but to delete a very informative thread like that......thats just not cool... (my .02)
