The heads are gonna be a set of 200cc Pro Topline with either 10.0 or 10.9:1 compression depending on which cc chamber head I get. The cam is a GM Performance parts cam that has 234/242 duration @.050 and .539/.558 lift (it think they got that grind from Crane cams) And the intake is gonna be a Holley Stealth Ram with 30lbs/hr injectors. I'm hoping to make ~450hp and ~500ft/lbs, what do you guys think?

Sounds like you should be right around 475 hp, maybe a bit more. Those heads flow good and that cam will make lots of power. Should be good for mid - high 11's if you can get traction...

Well traction is gonna definately be a problem. But I just usually think of the old hotroder's cliche....if your ever gonna have problems with your car..traction is the best one to have. I have absolutlely no rear suspension mods as of right now and don't have plans for any in the near future since I have about $8000 in the motor and new T56 setup that's going in with the new motor. But one thing that I do plan on doing right after I get the motor and trans in is to switch the rear end setup from the current 2.73 open to a 3.73 or 4.10 posi. Other then that, I'll probably been done for awhile.

With that 2.73 open rear you wouldn't have any traction, at least with the 3.73/4.10's and a posi you'll be able to get moving while spinning the tires. What diff are you going to go with? Eaton, Auburn, Detroit?

Wheeler Block
I have seen that short block before.....did you buy it off Ebay?????
I have seen one listed there and if that is the same one you have, and it is reasonably priced, I am thinking about grabbing me one. Definitely tell us how it runs and surely how it holds up to a little abuse!
Questions: one or two piece rear seal, and do you know if it is a roller block or not????
Good luck on your buildup!

Go with the eaton posi unit...its far better than an auburn or zexel torsens that others use. Trust me I just went through that with mine. A close friend of mine who happens to have years of experience and a sound reputation for building quality rearends for everything from 12 second streetcars to 7 second strip cars say thats the ticket if your gonna stick with the stock 10 bolt.
