hello, you must be confused thirdgen.org is a thirdgen f body tech site, not 4th gen. in the future plese don't post anything not thirdgen related. thanks for your time and understanding, ed

Doesnt LS1 Speed sell LT1 parts.......? and I think thunder racing sells for all three...........?

this is the second time i have recieved a comment from your board admin... and i guess i must be confused...

swing by my board, you can post whatever you want..... better yet, how about swing by my shop, we work on all three....

I apologize for wanting to share my little bit of knowledge and know how to other fellow enthusiasts...

hello, if you're selling something it is, if not then you can post all the links you want far as i know.

now im really confused.... so i was abiding by the rules perfectly... but simply because the links to the images in my post had something to do with a 4th gen thats illegal...

maybe im wrong, but isnt your motor swap section full of posts that have to do with 4th generation F bodies.....?

guess i'm confused now. thirdgen.org is a tech only site for thirdgen f bodys, anything else isn't acceptable. you can post a link to just about anything you want as long as it conforms to the basic rules, no **** etc. you can post a link to any car site or web page you want. you can not post links to advertising or sites selling a product or service.

maybe im wrong, but isnt your motor swap section full of posts that have to do with 4th generation F bodies.....?

mods are dicks sometimes....

i usually just remake the thread with a diff title and a explination of "why this is legal" at the start of the thread....

just ignore him when he deletes somthing stupid.. at this point, im pretty sure he just skims the board for crap and deletes as he goes.......

...hes done it to me 3 times now, and all of them were 100% legal great tech info threads

Talking about working on 4th gens is not allowed.
Talking about swaping 4th gen parts into a 3rd gen is allowed.

No.
I'm here and I don't have any of the mods giving me slack about posting, and I dont own a 3rd or a 4th gen.

either he double or tripple posted or this guy is ONE confused cat.

To cliff notes and then some to Solids thead,
This is a 3rd gen tech site, and if it benifits third gens its allowed. Thats a nice set up you have there. Zero 4th gen info will be posted, unless its about drive train info. But if you ask "what are the best rims for my 1995 camaro" you gunna get locked. But if you ask "what rims will fit on the REAR i got from a 95 camaro and put in my 87" thats allowed.

It'd be great to know what you are talking about?! And no, we're not putting Auto Sig back on, there's no need for every person or almost every person to have their sig on in every post, especially with pictures and whatever else.

BTW, I feel that ede handled the situation nicely and without any sign of attitude. Make sure to also read the ThirdGen.Org Board Rules.

depends.

sometimes threads arnt locked/deleted because of their content.... they are locked/deleted because the mod didnt catch the jist of it when they just scanned thru it real quick.

reposting with diffrent topic titles or rephrasing/ using bold works all the time for me.

I see what you mean. I thought he was saying just post the same thing again (to be a smartass) but I guess if the mod took it the wrong way then it could be reposted. If it was locked, it can always be unlocked though if the mod and the user talk it out and are on the same page.

perfect example:

i made a thread a few weeks back with some good tech questions on EGR.. but someone had started to talk about it in one thread, and didnt go into full detail...

so i made a post whos topic looked somthing like: "EGR questions.. username, lil help? " or somthing like that, i dont recall.... really the prob was i used his name in the topic title...

it wasnt locked, it was deleted. i doubt ede even opened the thread.

i did ask him to unlock it... nothing came of that...

good thing i just remade the same exact thread with a slightly diff topic title.... all of a sudden noone had a prob with it. *shrug*

on one hand, mods are only human too, and im not holding anything agienst them.... i dont have a grudge agienst ede by any means...

but i do think he needs to read things more throughly before he goes deleting topics......

I see what you mean, but I also understand ede with deleting it. He read the title and read it as a "page" to the other member when you can simply use PMs or email to get in contact with them, so he deleted it. Its hard to read every single thread, especially when he mods more than one forum. I think he does fine, people rag on him too much. But thats my opinion.

you can have a thread will all kinds of tech content and not be acceptable, because as mr dude pointed out he was using the public forums as a private message forum, in other words he sent or paged a specific member. that has always been unacceptable. yes reposting it without the personal page would be no problem at all. you can also post a thread with no tech content and at the end ask a tech question "to make it tech" and it'll be unacceptable as well. no i don't "just scan the topics" i read every thing the gets locked or deleted. if you have a problem with something or someone write the mods or admins to see if a problem can be resolved instead of involving a lot of people that don't know any or all of the details

i am not by any means intending this to be taken literally but is it just me or what but every post i see about people complaining about the mods is from the same people. i think these guys are taking things to heart and not applying them to the rules this site has for a reason. i know i have gone beyond the rules once or twice myself and if i am told to stop or a thread gets locked i can take a hint. i just think the rules arent getting through to some people.
