i was thinking something fairly similar to that but going all the way to the back of the hatch
i really need a lot of air space for these subs and the giant port

ive seen one in a 2nd gen camaro too....but when going with a hatch style car you souldnt make just a wall, you should still have an enclosed box back there even tho it looks like a wall. also you can use up some of your hatch space but you should leave the hole in the back for storage. Maybe good for amps or grocerys haha. Id say plan on having it enclosed not ported but some may disagree. Remove the seats and all the plastic crap and you could get a extra set of rear plastic and cut it to fit in with your box....as one rear arm rest extends all the way back so you may want to cut another one up and keep your orig. trim in the atic. Id say remove your front seats too and start measureing and build the box in the car cutting a piece and installing it peice by piece.

you have two 18s right? take a look at fireturd350's setup. he has two kicker comp vr 18s in the hatch. its alot better setup than a wall would be i would think.

ya the wall will be an actual enclosure taking up the whole hatch/backseat area. Im planning out mounting my amps on the back portion of the wall. It will be a ported wall to increase output.
btw a walled enclosure is the loudest possible SPL configuration you can have. A well designed wall will always be louder than a well designed box in the hatch
thanks for all the info guys

If you need 10 cubic ft. There's not a chance of ever getting 1/2 that in the well. So a Wall would be about your ownly option. Concept db formula says you get 16 more db with hatchback box course you get 6-9 with odd order ported box then another 12 if you do the wall from the way I understand it. Also having less air space will of course build up pressure faster.

you're supposed to gain about 3 db for doubling the power, and 3 for doubling the cone area...but not even that works all the time

yeah, I didn't say it was exact. It's just something concept uses with a -/+ 3 error on their website for them to push their subs onto people that see the 6 year warranty and jump all over their products.

designing the enclosure, battery rack, and amp rack will take atleast a week

www.respl.com email them and if they don't have a dealer in your area you can buy factory direct.

when i bought them about a year and a half ago there was no canadian dealer so it was factory direct. I asked for a quote and there was an unadvertised sale on that ended that day. Unfortunately i wouldnt have the cash for another two weeks but the guy i was dealing with (terry jackson) said that he would still give me the sale price as long as i gave him my word that i would be back in two weeks. It saved me about $300CDN
