The 142 maybe. The 177 no way. It sits a full 2" higher overall than the 142, partially because it's a bigger blower overall, and partially becuase the lower intake is significantly taller than the one used for the 142.

How much horsepower would the 142 support? Super chevy made 600 horsepower on a 355 with the 177...

It looks like the only real difference in height is the intake manifold on these. Are the intakes on the 142 and 177 interchangable?

I have no clue but it looks like they have different part numbers.

383 CID "Enforcer 525" Supercharged Engine, 4 bolt main block, 5140 steel rods, JE blower pistons, Comp Cams hyd. cam. stage I ported Edelbrock alum. cyl. heads, Weiand 142 supercharger, 750 carb, MSD 525 hp $8,995.00

350 with 142 that Chevy High Performance did, Nice article 8 parts full build up

My expereince is that the little 142 is basically "all done" by 500 HP (I'm making 480HP on a 383ci engine and I'm one step from maxed-out on pulleys). The 177 is gonna be all done around 600.

The lower intakes are definitely NOT interchangable between the two.
