How does this setup look.....
Like the title says, I am interested to see what you guys think about this setup. I have done the searches which is how I decided on a couple of the components.
Here is what I am thinking:
First off, I am using my 350 TPI motor as the starting point.
Holley Stealth Ram
AFR 190 Heads, 68cc chambers
Comp Cams XR288HR cam
Specs @.050: 236/242, .520/.540, 110
1.6 Roller Rockers
TCI SSF 3500rpm converter
Probuilt 700R4 Street/Strip Tranny
Any input on this setup is appreciated.
Also, the only thing I haven't decided on is what rear gear ratio to go with. Any and all suggestions welcome on this as well.
I should mention that this is not my daily driver but will be driven on the streets and will remain mostly street but will see plenty of strip time throughout the year.
TIA
John

I don't know about that cam, you might want to run a computer grind, so your computer doesn't have major fits.

ME Leigh...I will be taking the car to Ed Wright for tuning. What grind would you recommend though? I am open to any and all suggestions.

With a computer a cam with a wider LSA is required, for several reasons. The narrowest you could get away with it probably 110 LSA., with major tuning hassels.
I'd recommend the 08-503-8 XR276HR or the 08-305-8 274HR-14 those are biggest computer cams available.
I'm no expert you might just want to ask ask your tuner what he would recommend.

Ran this setup on DD2000 and it is showing:
Max HP @ Flywheel: 588 @ 7500rpm
Max TQ @ Flywheel: 459 @ 5500rpm
Max RWHP: 470.4 @ 7500rpm
Max RWTQ: 367.2 @ 5500rpm
This is assuming a 20% drivetrain loss.
This is inputing the info like I have read to do off these boards...using Solid instead of Roller for the cam setting and using Seat-to-Seat instead of .050".
I realize this is going to take some mad tuning to get everything worked out though. Anyone have any other input on what should be done to this setup?
Thanks,
John

I'm not sure, you might want to ask on the TPI board, they have much greater knowledge of the computers used in these cars.

Why do you want 1.6 rockers though? That cam has more than enough lift as it is, and thats with 1.5 rockers?

I am looking to get the most power I can from the combo and the 1.6 rockers will give more lift and more power.
