another crazy idea
The other day I was thinking how I would be able to make custom dashboard/center console and this popped into my head.
Has anyone ever tried to make the controls in the center (heat, fan speed.... everything) electronic instead of manual? I did some playing around with HC12 embedded microprocessor in school and that thing is pretty cool. It has tons of inputs and outputs and you can make it do just about anything. I was wondering if anyone ever attempted to take all that mechanical stuff and actually hook it up to some servos controlled by something like this?

GM has a digital ac/heater control that was out in the 80s...dad's 87 park avenue had it! I have thought about grabbing one up if I see one at a yard. Not sure of the sizing thou...its been awhile since he sold his car...10 years...
