Heart Transplant

Just bought an '86 TA with a 97 LT1 in it. The motor is not running at the moment but it does turn over. The plan is to put the LT1 in the Iroc I'm parting the TA out if anyone needs anything.

Awesome, congrats Steve. My headers would work great on that engine

That T/A looks like it has been seriously molested

Well the badge on the dash says Performance Suspension, does that make it a WS6 car?

I'd be interested in the following for my recently purchased 86 Iroc:
- T-tops ... for spares
- antena
- steering wheel ... to use while I get mine re-leathered
- 3rd brakelight... not sure yet why mine stopped working (not bulbs)

None of these things I really need, but better than in the junkyard.

Ron

Apparently the heads were ported, I know where I can get a slighly wilder camshaft for 50 bux. Other than that, no plans. Once its out of the car I'm gonna remove the intake and heads to see whats been done. I'm gonna clean everything up and maybe polish the intake or paint it.

Great man!
Did you get a harness and computer with it?
Any idea on the optispark condition..they can be a bitch and are $$$$.. I ended up just putting a cap kit on mine, still cost me I think about $200.
Let me know if you need any advice or ideas for the swap.

Yes the cost would make it prohibitive. You should be able to find on easily there. Besides this hood is not in great shape.

How about the rip in the drivers side seat then? I'll take that!

jk I'll stop. Nice find tho. LT1/LS1's are definately the way to go for a swap.

That looks like a Flowmaster muffler too. I question the gains of installing it without attaching it to the engine though. How the hell did you find that thing? I've wanted an LT1 since I saw Neil's car last summer.
