then we need some solution of how to get it to you because emailing does not work.

I have bittorrent (ABC) and a decent connection, but I don't have time to learn how to be the original seed.

Hmm, what about transferring through AOL Instant Messenger? That always seems to work the best for me!

BTW, what is that from? A movie or show?

A show, and I don't have AOL components on my computer.

I don't like them

AOL is a virus, spyware, malware, and content filtering all rolled into one $26.95 a month price. They are the virus, not the blocker.

besides, without a whole lot of luck, no messenger will allow a 11Mb transmission, not AOL, Yahoo, or MSN/Windows

Not the AOL service, the messenger program. As long as you uncheck the 3 boxes when you install it (wildtangent, weatherbug, and one other one) there is no spyware or anything like that. Trust me, I work at PC shop and that's all I deal with all day.

Also any messenger program will allow a file transfer of that size. I've transferred 600mb through it before!

I've sent files with 50 mb over MSN Messanger, so 11mb should be easy...

Fab video, thanks for taking the time to post it.

I'm puzled though, coming from the UK I have to ask, what is A&E and why did they show this chase video especially with the Maiden sound track? I'm assuming they aren't a regular music channel or they would have played the proper Run to the Hills video?
The video was obviously made years ago, I wonder what the story is behind it?

It hasn't been added to the video section, and I wouldnt blame them for not doing so. I don't really own the rights to the footage and niether does TGO. But then again some of the other footage on there like the autoweek stuff is basically in the same boat. I guess it could be put up and taken down if anyone complained. The actors couldn't complain because their arent really any faces shown.

I edited it all from a 2AM episode of TJ Hooker on A&E.

I used the song because it lined up correctly and was the correct "vintage" for the footage.

Nice work! Perfect choice of music. Would work fine with any good speedy metal song... there's something wonderful about speeding and loud guitars. '502' by Megadeth woulda been perfect too, or maybe 'fast junkie' by Overkill.

that video is made from two different chase scenes from a cheesy tv show with cheesy music.

By the time I got done editing all of the cheesy actors and drama out of the footage all that was left was alot of cool footage with stupid sound effects and music that didn't convey the context of the footage.

As well as the fact that the chopped up sound track created a distinct lack of continuity.

Putting it to music "just sooo" made the continuity return.

The context is given by the sound and lyrics of the music, hence a early 80's car in early 80's footage completes the whole "run to the hills" theme.

Personally I think the video is mint just the way it is.
The footage tires in the the lyrics and music solos really well.

I resent that. AOL is not a virus (they scan for Spyware and infected files while you surf, now anyway), that's your own personal opinion, entitled to it. I have my own take on AOL and have used it for ages now, it seems. I am looking at a high speed alternative some time soon though. The best vid solution for me is to use Windows media and down load from a link, if I try to stream it on dialup, it takes ages

For 80s feel, I guess, but how about Rev on the Red Line by Foreigner? Always liked that one too. There's a chase video done by Chicago that was one of the best music videos ever... Hardly typical of jazz/rock giants Chicago, but Peter Citera was more adventurous in the 80s

I have my own take on AOL and have used it for ages now, it seems. I am looking at a high speed alternative some time soon though. The best vid solution for me is to use Windows media and down load from a link, if I try to stream it on dialup, it takes ages

I call any program that when it gets into your computer, first of all cannot be fully deleted without some serious digging (even though it tricks the program manager to think otherwise) , changes and "infects" things like communications protocols in undesirable and irreversable ways so that if you change to another service they wont operate properly, forces you to view just the content that people pay them to show you (content filtering), modifys the windows environment in a way that is irreversable leaving the only effective repair process is to totally wipe the drive and reinstall windows to reverse every effect of its shadow.

yeah then I guess it being a virus would be simply MY opinion? heh yeah right. I don't have an opinion on the matter really, no more than any person that has an opinion to not purposefully install a virus or spyware in thier computer.

I do plan to move added files to CD R and reformat my drive, but that's only due to a long extent of surfing and file accumulation, my systems memory is stock and it taxes the processing over the years. I don't feel AOL has limited my exposure or caused my programs difficult. It's dialup has typical problems, but I'm not a computer whiz, so it's fare to assume I'm not keen on something, but AOL and Microsoft bashing seem akin to bashing Sony and other large companies like Blockbuster.

Though I prefer to boycott Blockbuster for it's policies, I decided on AOL from it's former list and current list of users. Seemed more people used AOL over other ISPs and I do feel there's a premium to the charges but on the broadband side, prices are pretty stable.

AOL as I understand it from other complaints has a type of (technical term is escaping me) 'in-house' system they prefer everyone tie into or become a type of industry wide standard, like Sony has done in the past. With large companies that do develop standards used industry wide, that seems fare, but debatable in Telecommunications.
Sorry to rant OT, but I prefer people state why they feel AOL is a menace, other then maybe greed, I think there are certainly more then one large company looking at the bottom line

you will note I used nothing derogatory and stated only fact. greed is not even one of the objection I stated. there are plenty of greedy companies that offer ISP services without screwing up your computer. I rocommend Intergate for dialup. I use them when I am away from my highspeed at home (traveling) $10 a month and tons of numbers.

another huge gripe I have is AOL selling internet they dont have to sell. those "dial-up problems" are something that AOL users have come to allow. its the equivalent of getting bumped off a flight even when you paid for a first class ticket.

Can we keep this on topic? ISPs and their activities are not 3rd gen related. Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

I bet he could've gotten away from them, but not without messing up the car...

I figured I'd gone a bit too OT for the mods. Feel free to PM or better yet, email me with some highspeed options at AOL dialup prices. The thing is I'm likely to keep AOL on hand on my HDD to use if needed. It is my main mail system and I've had problems with NetZero as well, in the past when I put up with it.

As far as the vid, I'm curious why no one has named a source for that? There weren't too many shows with cars or car chases of note.
With a particular generation, it narrows the field.
